Default What is the maximum number of HitPoints that a Trait can give?

CoW has a number of traits that give a large number of HitPoints to characters. For example, feytor or meleh traits give 10 extra HitPoints and the terribly_scarred and brutally_scarred give 6 and 8, respectively.

Now, according to the M2TW Ultimate Docudemons 4.0 file (which purports to give a lot of accurate information about the game mechanics and limits), the maximum number of HitPoints that a single trait can give to a character is 5. Obviously, many of the traits go over this limit.

Now, if this limit in fact exists, and going above it causes the game to crash, this would make the game crash all the time, which doesn't happen. But, what if the limit exists, and if you go above it, the trait simply has no effect?

I got started thinking about this when I realized that both the Archaon and his herolds were in fact *very* easy to kill. I expected them to be the last men standing in their armies and was surprised at how quickly they died. Now, if the trait that is supposed to give them 10 HitPoints in fact does nothing, this would explain what I saw.

Usually, when traits give a number above the hardcoded number, they just drop to that number. For example, the max HP of a unit in M2TW is 15. If you make a unit have, let's say, 64 HP, it will be considered the same as 15HP. I don't believe that those numbers would cause CTD's, however.

Best solution is give Archaon and his Lieutenants unique, very tough, but small bodyguard units. All the hp in the game counts for nothing if a charge from heavy cavalry strips away most of them.

I already have new units implemented for the big 5 of chaos all with new bodyguards with different models. Just need texturing and implementing into campaign. Not a priority for me at the moment though.

I killed Archaon in the first seconds of battle with a salvo from 2 Cannons, 1 Helblaster and 1 Helstrom. No bodyguard would save him from that you know

If you take to modern definition, the bodyguards should all have jumped on Archaon and formed a human shield...

I just imaged how the bouncer that always checks IDs infront of my favorite club is on a Warhammer battlefield and catches a great cannon ball in mid air and asks 'hey, you don't look like you're 18!'
