Custom Battle Issue

I have had this trouble before, but never got around to get it really fixed.

I use the RomeTW-BI.exe for launching RSII. Whenever I do custom battle, it crashes and the program stops working. I don't experience this problem with the campaign modes, only the custom battle part.

Some information to help with any answers:

- I have all RTW at 1.5 version and BI at 1.6 version. All the patches necessary to use the mod. I had it just redownloaded last night.

- Most of my settings are medium, units are set at huge and high detail. So I don't have lag. My laptop is only a year old and all other RTW associated mods have worked.

I am asking if this problem has been fixed with the 2.6a patch for RSII or if there is another way to fix it.

Note: I downloaded the 2.6a patch and I tried to launch custom battle, but an error occurred where an unknown/unidentified greek unit (cavalry unit it seemed like) was causing the custom battle to not launch at all.

When does it crash exactly?
If it is when zooming on a unit, make sure you have the unit shader option activated.

Also, there's no RS2.6a as of yet, we're only at 2.1a.

I meant 2.1a patch lol

I use Roma Surrectum 2.

Anyways,

It happens as soon as I press the Begin Battle button...the screen stays on the army units then screen goes black and it says that the program has stopped working.

The campaign works fine, only the custom battle I have had problems with.

Could you please try to see if playing a battle using multiplayer in the launcher results in the same thing?
Also, I'm assuming campaign battles are working, is that right?

Campaigns battles have worked so far. (Just did two in a row on my Roman save and they worked.)

I shall check the multiplayer part soon

Just checked multiplayer and the same error happened. I tried a custom battle and when I pressed start battle...the program exited and resulted in an error happening and the program shutting down.

I've got to admit I'm lost there.
If you really want to play some custom battles, you could try to reinstall RS somewhere else to see if it works or not...

The only way for mods to work for my RTW is if I directly install it into the Creative Assembly file on Programs(x86).

The 2.1a patch might work...but it wouldnt let me access custom battle because of an error with an unknown greek unit in the files.
