Default Comfort or the gritty truth?

    Very simple question for everyone:

Would you rather know what is going on or would you rather just feel good about it?

    Ignorance is bliss.

I think many people claim to want to know the truth, but few can handle it. I often search for the truth myself; And in the end i wish i hadn`t.

But i think it`s always better to know the truth- Even if it shatters dreams or expectations.

My opinion is similar to Lordinquisitor, I'd rather search for the truth and the facts of something, even if it means that what I originally thought was wrong or what I believe is shattered due to the information. I'd rather know the truth than live in ignorance.

I would say that ignorance is bondage, and the pursuit of knowledge is freedom. Even if said knowledge wasn't what we wanted to be true, it's better to be conscious of the harsh reality than to remain unenlightened.

Ignorance is like the bloom of a rare and exotic flower, touch it and it's gone forever.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are so certain of themselves, but wiser people are full of doubts.

How can anybody choose comfort over the truth, however uncomfortable it may be, is beyond me.

I only find true comfort in knowing the truth. It wouldn't actually be comforting otherwise.

    I'd prefer the gritty truth.
“We humans do not understand compassion. In each moment of our lives, we betray it. Aye, we know of its worth, yet in knowing we then attach to it a value, we guard the giving of it, believing it must be earned, T’lan Imass. Compassion is priceless in the truest sense of the word. It must be given freely. In abundance.
