    Default Partitioning drives

ok, my last problem (knock on wood) is that i primarily partitioned 10 gb of my 320gb hd for windows installation.

i didnt know of extended partitioning and so forth (whoops)

then someone on another tech forum told me of going to administrative tools and so forth for extended partitioning. so i did in the disk management. the reast of the 300 gb says its extended and all.

but i still cant seem to see the free space when i try to look at the used/free space ratio, i only can see the original partitioned space.

    got any suggestions?

Did you format the rest of the drive into NTFS?
I don't think windows reads unformatted space.
Also, a partition is treated as an individual drive, a virtual seperate hard drive if you will, so the windows partition will only show the space that is used and free in that 10 gigabytes.

yes i did Pompey... ok after a few re-reads of the instructions, i realised i shouldnt have created that extended partition, instead remake another primary partition to allow me to run programs off of it.

NOW my computer is up and running, i just played some BF2 and yay, looks and smooth like a baby's bottom.

but now im bored. haha i need a new game, been tempted to go back to WoW, but i get depressed evey time i touch my cds cause i know itll take me a while to get back on track and take me a while to get good gear and i dont want to go through that headache again.

i cant wait till Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion comes out. I havent gotten Lord of the Rings BFME2 yet , i just dont feel the urge to get it.

any suggestions on games to keep me occupied?

Don't format your computers in the evil NTFS format! Use fat 32!

Matter of opinion, but I would like to hear yours. (not that there is anything wrong with FAT32, it's worked fine and all, but why is NTFS evil in your opinion?)

Oh and Lumburg, how about RTW?
or F.E.A.R, or any other of the graphically intensive games out that you played through the first time going "I wish I had shadows".

Any operating system can read FAT 32, but only windows can read NTFS. Hence, evil.

you have to create logical drives in the extended partition and format them, then you will be able to see the space
