Handgun firing has the sound of bows?

I've had the same experience. When watching my handgunners up close I sometimes hear the sound of bows even though neither I nor my enemy has any archers or crossbows.

Yes, it's a bug that is attributed to the animations themselves (much like a horse's whinny when it dies) rather than the sound files themselves. Although, I haven't experienced this bug after I installed Galloper's English Voices mod.

Strange, I am quite sure that I have Gallopers' mod, but I still hear the bow sounds. I'll try to install his mod again.

EDIT:
Well that did the trick. I just played through a custom battle without hearing the sound of bows a single time. Must have forgot to install Gallopers' mod, silly me.

but doesn't Galloper's English voice mod remove the music for some obscure reason?

thats why i dont install it on my CoW
