    Default Progression thread

Just wondering the progress of EBII.

for example, is the mod over 50%,60%,70%.....done? What work is left to be done? I know this mod is going to be better than anyone can imagine because the first EB was out of this world. I understand there comes a point in modding a game that everyone gets tired of the seemingly endless work. But id really like to play this game.

i am asking these questions becuase i am a novice modder and could perhaps help if it will help decrease the release date. I dont think i can handle scripting but if there is easier work to be done i can help.

You seem to be new here. No answer will ever be given to this question, just as there never has been before.

Nonsense. The answer has been given countless times.

"Your guess is as good as theirs."

Isn't there something in the FAQ about this btw?

    Anyway... close this thread?

This is covered in the FAQ:
Q: When will EB2 be released?
A: Although research and concepting from Europa Barbarorum can be used for Europa Barbarorum II, all unit have to be remade. This will take a large amount of time and an accurate estimate of a release date cannot yet be ascertained. If you can model/skin units in M2TW and want to help us finish EB2 quicker, visit the Recruitment Thread and tell us what you can do.

I swear I read an 80% done somewhere. Maybe the KGB filtered that out though

Im not asking for a release date. I understand that the creators flip out everytime they see "when is this going to be released?" I think im asking a simpler and far less complicated question. Maybe the answer is something like....

WE have to finish up the textures for the sweboz, Lugiones, Boii.
We have to finish scripting about 70-80% done
We have to finish coding 50-60% done

and so on and so forth. Im not asking much. Almost all other mods in development have a progress thread. Im paitent, i can wait for EBII to come out. i would just like to know if i should check back every week, month, or months.

An estimate 80% of the units planned for the first release (which is only a part of the number of units for the final release) were done. But that doesn't give any more information. There are weeks that we produce more units than certain months for example. And if those units are finished that doesn't mean the rest is.

Edit: note I'm not sure how correct that estimate is, it was not mine either.

Assigning percentage values to an area of the mod is not something that we will do. Its generally a lie, gives the wrong impression of the timeframe to the release of the mod, and without some pretty hefty context is pretty much valueless.

All in all, Im happy with saying "when its ready". But I can definitely say that you won't see the first release within the next six months - so I hope that helps.

Ah, correct. It was about the units. But still, if a large amount of units are done I'm a happy man. I know we can see the end of the tunnel especially for the last few months you are going warp speed

Not true from my point of view. When you mod, it's always thrilling seeing your work and ideas taking shape, with every piece you finish you are motivated to take the next challenge.

The only problem here and unpleasant is that we can't afford to do that on regular basis and as much as we want, because real life interferes. And things like family and work will always have priority.
