Default Unexpected end of archive - unable to install

I was really excited about this because I played 6.1 way back and then I saw what a nightmare it is to install 6.3 so I can then install 6.4

Can someone provide me laymans instructions in english to get this thing installed? It's like you're speaking Greek in the page for downloading from FileFront.

I downloaded all the different parts, Part 5 comes as a .bin file already. I downloaded 7zip and tried to "add to archive" for the part1, part2, etc. and I named them "part1" and "part2" and so forth.

But this just creates a zip file with the two files inside it. I tried "extract" instead and that's no dice.

The zip files I created with 7zip of the two parts of each "part" has a bin file inside but when I try to extract anything I get "unexpected end of archive"

I appreciate that the SS team has created such a wonderful mod, but for chrissakes do you want anyone to play it? I build and overclock computers and I'm absolutely baffled on how to get this thing working right.

    1. go into 7zip
    2. press and hold the shift key (by your left pinky)
    3. click on and highlight all part-1 files (i.e. 1.1 and 1.2)
    4. then click extract (do both at same time)
    5. this will extract them into one .bin file.
    6. rinse and repeat for parts 2-4.
    7. Download ss.6.3.exe found here http://www.gamefront.com/files/17172597/SS6.3.exe
    8. Take all .bin files (1-5) and the .exe and put them in a folder on your desktop call ss6.3install
    9. Double click the .exe file (the lil horsey looking one) and follow the install directions.

Leaving the possibility aside that your downloads are incomplete:
You can also use the helper program for SS6.3 filefront mirror if you have problems joining the splitted archives.

Helper program didn't resolve my problem. I've tried what you suggest already LosThief and it tells me:

"can not open [file path and name] as archive"

In regards to the helper program, it tells me "Error: cannot find archive"

My files were downloaded with the following names:

    SS6.3-1.zip.zip
    SS6.3-1.zip.002

I have tried to rename the .zip.zip as follows:

    SS6.3-1.zip
    SS6.3-1.001.zip

But all three name styles produce the same error. I do have both files highlighted in 7zip and I click extract.

Correct filenames are SS6.3-1.zip.001 and SS6.3-1.zip.002 and so on.

I renamed the zip.zip files to zip.001 and tried to extract with the 002 version of part 1. The error message I get now is:

CRC failed in SS6.3-1.bin File is broken

I was so close, thought this would work. Now what?
