    Alright, so...I was thinking about adding ships to RTW by changing the elephant's skin so that it looked like a ship. I was thinking about the logistics, and i knew that no matter how i could manage, it would look bad...there is no way that i can see to have terrain that moves during a battle, so they could all have rain maybe to be more realistic. I haven't outlined what i want to do, so here it goes...


    Changing the skins of elephants to resemble triremes, biremes, and quinqiremes, as well as boats and large boats for barb. factions. This will maybe only be a custom battle mod, as i dont know too much about the ocean and how everything works in regards to it... I am sure about one thing, and that is that it is possible, but i cant find where the pic of it was. It was done before and i was looking for just 2 or three people to help me to make this lost "mod" a reality. I need a skinner and some1 good with .txt files. I will just need the rest. I will post a pic tomorrow on what i would like the ships to look like

    Alrighty, so,
    That is what the triremes i would like to look like,

    That is the Bireme, and now the Quinqireme...

    What do you guys think? anyone willing to help me model?

    you can't do naval battles in rtw

    though you can change the campaign models.

    Rome vice wanted me on their mod team if i got this working, but i still havent recieved anyone wanting to help me model

    It has been considered,so here is my input.

    1. RTW uses only 2 weapon attacks,this means if using a mount base,you need missile and ram,ie chariot/elephant. You can't attack with spear as how can you reach the enemy marines?
    2. Terrain has to be water instead,but the trick is as in river for your 'elephant' to walk on it and have the water effect. You can't use sea as the engine will 'drown' your unit. I saw this when a mod used a wrong custom battle map and I ended in the sea...all my units drowned! Sheesh. So create a large river for your elephant.
    3. Siege weapons as in carioballista of BI and elephant guns aka MTW2 use one of your 2 slots,and missile as secondary well.....
    4. Animations etc I think Marcel was working on something for his mod-fantasy base using an Elephant.
    5. Ship has to be 'mount' to get the men aboard.
    6. Because it is a mount not a structure or siege,you can't break and sink the ship,so it needs dying animation.

    im not on the IB team, and thanks for your input. For the qunqireme, that will be the only one we will have a problem with. As it has a tower...the others will be elephants. because the ele has the melee attack, we will change the animation and there will be no boarding as that would be next to impossible to code. just archers and ramming

    Yeah it in our team forum section there is a thread opened there, we already have one ship unit and texture.
