Are there any factions in BC 2.3 ???????
Are there any factions in BC 2.3 ???????
Dodgy question, BC2.3 has all BC2.02 factions, with the Turks and Great Seljuks renamed into "Seljuks of Rum" and "Seljuks of Iraq" respectively.
Well since the timespan of the BC finishes in 1400 AD then it would be historically accurate to present the Ottoman Sultanate as the independent faction as it emerges from the broken Seljuk Sultanate and the myriad of the small emirates and beyliks that dotted Anatolia at that time. I don't know why they are called "Seljuks of Rum"....

How does one play the chauchans... Ive been playing them and successfully defeating the ghaznis, but I have -3000 income even with lahore and jalahandar and literally half an army stack. I check my income it says Im spending 10000 on army and i have 3 generals... I would be spending 10000 if i had a full and a half stack, i even sold my elephants right away.
Yeah so i just put that campaign to rest, as they are economically nerfed, a worse starting position than georgia. They start with 2 not 1 aggressive factions on their borders on two opposite fronts, they start with no economy, they have medium quality armies at best and expanding hindu into afghan/iran/persia is like herpderp. Seriously I would rewrite the georgian thing, they are not in a dangerous position, they start with mountains surrounding they cities on every front, even cities you can go and take over, their main forte is strong spearmen and they mainly face horse archers from kypchaks, seljuks of rum/iraq, and they can now expand to about 10-11 territories beyong starting position WITHOUT ANY checking from enemies, because the condition of the seljuks of both iraq and rum, AND the kypchaks having to take so much time to get anything done.
Georgia info should be redone for 2.3 and its weaknesses changed to : There is nothing wrong with them, pick them and own everyone.
at least that is my impression, they are just easy steamrollers with professionally composed armies, easily retrained in a vast number of territories (compared with other factions who can only train good units in 3-4 specific territories) and nobody, absolutely nobody to check their expansion. Once the other powers are established you are already incredibly well established.
They are the easiest faction in 2.3 IMO, id like to hear other people's opinion.
Also I really want to play the chauchans properly and if anyone has any tips please send them why way![]()

The term "Rűm" comes from the Arabic word for the Roman Empire. The Seljuqs called the lands of their sultanate Rum because it had been established on territory long considered "Roman", i.e. Byzantine, by Muslim armies. That's why
I know why the lands of Anatolia are called Rum, what I was asking where is the Ottoman Sultanate on the faction list??

The mod starts in 1174, so Ottoman faction would have to be emergent.
It would be a good addition, if not the fact, that the time scope will change, and BC campaign will end in 1300 (with 4 turns per year). That is why there is no Ottoman faction on the list.
Would it not be possible to use the Kalmar Union script to give the player the choice to "create" the ottoman empire (by taking Anatolia and some other provinces.....and so on)
It would be awesome, but I don't really know if you have any faction slots left for 2.3, as the script requires one, if I remember it correctly.
QVOD IN OMNI VITA FACIMVS IN AETERNVM RESONAT
Yes, it requires one factions slot.
Whether or not we have one free, that's a secret; that way or another we prefer to give it to a faction that existed in 1170's, rather than to emergent one.![]()
