CA what happened ? Temporary solution for crash after the new patch in post 39!

It's probably something that all of you ed up with mods, just reinstall instead of blaming ffs..

I have no mods installed now or when I downloaded the patch. I have neither bought nor downloaded any dlc. I do have the American retail version, AKA the limited edition. All files verified OK. CTD at launch.

As for DLC, what DLC has been released for S2? I'm not aware of any. Ikko-Ikki is a future DLC as I understand it, but what content to some players already have?

Hi guys,

It looks like there might be an issue causing some users to crash when booting into Shogun 2 after downloading the Ikko-Ikki DLC or patch.

I'm told this could be to do with avatar data. I'm being told " If you run the game before the avatar stats have downloaded the game will crash on boot. However running the game after the stats have downloaded the crash will no longer occur."

So for now, please try restarting your game a few times. If that doesn't work, stay tuned and I'll bring you updates as I have them - the team are looking at this now.

I baught the limited edition and nothing else.
CA should warn about such things IF its Steam's fault.
Shouldn't some one from CA check the steam patch and not their domestic version to see if everything would be ok?
Shouldn't some of CA check the main TW sites for such observasions inorder to help their customers. After all we are CA customers AND NOT Steam ones.

Well restarting "fix" doesnt work, tested about 10 times, always crash.

After countless rebooting and restarting now right after I clicked play game the game is trying ti finish installing something but freezes on the splash screen.
