i can't start a new late era campaign on windows 7....when i start the game redirectly me on the start page

if i install the patch 6.2 the save games are not compatible....i won't restart every time the campaign

can you start an early?

if so start and early....then start a late...see if it resets and works maybe? just a shot in the dark.
