    no it wont

for nvidia gpus they must be the SAME gpu aka 2x 560TI 2x 560 2x 570 2x 580 so on and so on

only AMD offers a different multi gpu tech aka a 5830+5850 or 5850 + 5870 5830 + 5870 so on and so on for Nvidia the cards must be the exact same gpu
for amd just needs to be the same family aka 58xx will all xfire, 68xx will xfire same as 69xx

so if you want sli you need another 560Ti to pair with your current 560Ti

thanks for the feedback... i was wondering cuz they both have the GTX 560... but I guess the TI makes it different (possibly the only suffix for a nvidia card that makes it vastly different enough that you cant SLI - i know you could a gtx260 and a gtx260se or sc)

    thanks... and rep to ya!

clock speeds dont matter but another example

    is the G92b core

8800GTS 512mb 9800GTX 9800GTX + and GTS 250 are all the same exact GPU core with minor alterations in essence a 9800gtx 9800GTX+ and gts 250 are all the exact same gpu but you still couldnt put them in SLI except sometimes due to gpu vendors renaming a 9800GTX+ to a GTS 250 some 250s would work with 9800gtx in SLI due to the size of the gpu aka 65nm vs 55nm overall tho except for rare cases in the past its always the same 2 gpus for SLI. clock speeds can be different but for best results try and get cards of equal vram and equal clock speeds if there not equal well just use software overclocks and make them equal or push them higher for better performance, but long story short 560 Ti must use another 560Ti for sli good luck with SLI if do get it performance is pretty sexy on 2x 560ti

Right the difference between the 560 and TI is that some of the stream processers (or CUDA cores) have been disabled. Even so, it probably won't work

What about a SLI setup with a GTX 590 & GTX 580 since they use GF110 GPUs?

still wont work because Nvidia dosent support mix and match

if you want quad gpu sli you need 2x 590s

if you want triple gpu sli you need 3x 580s thats how it work

only again AMD lets you mix gpus like that examples being a 6990 + 6970 for 3 gpus or 4870x2 + 4870 1gig 5970 + 5870 etc etc but you can also mix a 6990 + 6950 or 6950 + 6970 etc etc etc long as with AMD gpus the first 2 numbers are the same example 58 or 69 they will crossfire.

with Nvidia its the same gpu or no sli.

Well actually now you can SLI 2 separate cards with the NEW! multi-card set up.

    http://www.slizone.com/object/sli_physx.html
    (3rd one in the list)

One problem is the 2nd card has to be dedicated to PhysX.

Not only is that not new (that option has been around for years) but adding a dedicated PhysX card is not related to SLI in the slightest.

indeed theres only around 20 games that make use of Physx and even then only 2-3 of them are actually GOOD games,

and as Top Tier Tech pointed out its not SLI

every major game out there will see 0 performance improvement with physx,

    ShogunII
    Bad Company 2
    Battlefield 3
    Star Craft 2
    Assassins Creed 2
    Duke Nukem Forever
etc etc all the above games have 0 physx support so yea fail sauce
