Of course they did, in fact some Pakistani's welcome the drone attacks.

There is a deep abyss between the perceptions of the people of Waziristan, the most drone-hit area and the wider Pakistani society on the other side of the River Indus. For the latter, the US drone attacks on Waziristan are a violation of Pakistani’s sovereignty. Politicians, religious leaders, media analysts and anchorpersons express sensational clamour over the supposed ‘civilian casualties’ in the drone attacks. I have been discussing the issue of drone attacks with hundreds of people of Waziristan. They see the US drone attacks as their liberators from the clutches of the terrorists into which, they say, their state has wilfully thrown them.

I can understand where Pak is coming from. On one hand they want help ridding their country of terrorists and radicals but on the other they were made to look like fools by failing to respond to stealth choppers that entered their borders? But that shouldnt be too shameful since they were stealth choppers and impossible to detect. They have to play the tough guys now though to appear in control of their govt.

Well yea. Of course, theres is a group of people trying to overthrow the current government. However, they cant be seen by the people as weak and in any way in cohots with the western world devils.

Then theres the promise of a grand empire from the Al-Qaeda guys who hint that Pakistan/afghanistan could have it very nice if they play their cards right and are ready when the "western world" falls. Lawlz...

Afghanistan is home to trillions of dollars worth of rare metals and such. Lithium I believe, and many others. And Afghans themseves are more or less uninterested, China has noticed, as well as pakistan, and Al-Qaeda. Afghanistan could easily be as wealthy as Saudi Arabia. Key word being "could".

I'd like to see a bit of a more extensive OP than just a link and a smiley. PM me for details about how to improve this OP.
