Never done this before, so here's hoping it works.
I was playing today in my new tosa campaign. My line/spear levy army was attacked by an large enemy army, which had 4 cannons. I saw a temple in the middle of my deployment zone and decided it would be a nice command center. So I set my general there, guarded by a unit of line infantry.
The rest of my army was set up in a double line just in front of the building, with line infantry up front and spear levies behind.
Then I just held position and sent my revolver cav to deal with their artillery. they were wooden cannons, so not that dangerous, but they still did inflict a bunch of casualties.
Slowly, the enemy appeared on the horizon
In the pouring rain the armies clashed.
They were more numerous but I had the high ground, and my general was in the safest possible place.
The enemy realized that, and they were losing the battle. So their second generalīs hatomoto charged my command center
They would have killed a lot of line infantry, if not for their shiny new bayonets. They impaled the general on it and their main general was shot by a unit of revolver cav not long after, leading to a mass rout and a decisive victory.
That battle map is plain awesome
