    Default Inspecific error

Hey, I need some help, this is the problem. When I enter Call of Warhammer 1.4.4, everything is going well, than when I start playing my campaign, and enter a battle I get the error message.
    "Inspecific error"
And when I try to go back to an ealier version, (1.4.3) I look for the english patch and the link is broken. Any Version older than that crashes when entering combat with beastmen.
I have downloaded Call of Warhammer though the torrent from RedDwarf and the download on this sub forum, both of them end the same way. I am not sure weather or not I am installing it all correctly or not, but I really want help on this.

I hope some one can help me, I really like this mod!

    Do you have Windows 7?

If so, did you turn off your "User Account Control" before installing the mod?

Also, be sure to delete your VirtualStore if you do have Windows 7 (after you turn off your UAC), and that folder can be found here: "C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\SEGA"

In order to do this, you must set hidden files to be visible. If you do not know how, look it up in the Help Tool on your computer and the instructions there will give a detailed explanation as to how to make hidden folders visible.

Which torrent specifically did you download?

Also, did you modify any files within the game?

Do you have Kingdoms v1.4 or 1.5?

I have Kingdoms 1.5, and no, the only thing I did with the mod is start it up, and it crashed on the start of battles.

What i would recommend for you is to get for example trial version of " Your Uninstaller " , delete the game with it, addon , all the patches everything, after that use CCleaner to clean the registry and various files, restart PC, use CCleaner again. Go to where to game was installed, make sure no folders are left, install the game again . Use simple installation path for e.g. c/games/Medieval2 , install medieval 2 + all patches , install kingdoms all of the addons , teutonic crusades brittania and south america + all patches, download latest 1.4.4 torrent, carefully READ ( not fastly go though as many ppl do and then say mod isnt working ) installation instructions , install the mod, and if then it wont work , put your log file here.

However besides that , make sure you have the latest versions: Of your soundcard drivers, video card driver, Directx, make sure all windows updates are installed, microsoft frameworks lastest version. And if you have win 7 , download service pack 1, if Xp service pack 3.

Ok, I will look into it, I will send you an update in an hour or so.

Edit: Just to make sure, do I need to install CoW 1.4.4 only? Or 1.4.0-1.4.4?

Really? I don't need those mods to play CoW 1.4.4.

Only thing is now when I am in the battle its really laggy, but I should be able to handle that part, if you got any suggestions on lowering the lag than please post. Other than that, thanks alot to both of you guys for taking time to help me to fix this problem!

Well lag may occur from your PC in one way or another. Does your system specc suit the game?

Besides that, was glad to help.

try lowering your shadow and unit sizes. i reduced mine to small or normal max and turned off all shadow. my game is super smooth now, though you can leave the shadow on campaign it shouldn't be a big deal.
