Default Will Extended Realism some day focus on the late Roman Republic?

I've heard that the reason why there's no late legionnaire cohorts and praetorians (my favorite units in the game right after Spartan hoplites) is because this mod focuses on the early Roman Republic. For me, that's a huge dissapointment, because sometimes I just feel like it's dull waiting for the Marian reforms to happen when I can finally start using my favorite units. So is this mod ever going to shift some focus towards the late Roman Empire? If so, when?

By the way, is there a submod that adds late legionnaire cohorts and/or praetorians? If not, could somebody make one, if it's not too much trouble? A submod which replaces the early legionnaire cohorts with late ones would also be cool. That's what was done in PE if I remember right.

I may be wrong but part of the problem is the 66 BC bug. It's also a question of space limitations in the unit roster. The more accurately modelled the faction armies are, the less time we have to expand into the later period.
Considering the game begins in 275 BC(?), you're looking at a long time run.

Wien's right. We couldn't justify the inclusion of those units to the exclusion of others* when the game isn't even all that accurate for the Late Republic. I mean, we don't have Nabatea, we can't really model the Cimbri/Teutones invasion...I just can't say with a straight face that this mod covers the late Republic. If we were going to do the Late Republic, we'd revamp the whole thing and do the Late Republic right.

One thing that might help, though: those units of which you speak are all still in the download, just commented out in the DMB. And, IIRC, there are enough empty DMB slots in the most recent release (we were prepping for 4.0 even then, and were in the process of unit consolidation when we released) that you can fit them in. So you can just uncomment the DMB, EDU, and EDB entries and be good to go.

*This wasn't a huge issue in 3.5.3 for the reasons I explain in paragraph 2, but was at the time they were removed.

A line is treated as a comment rather than an instruction by putting a semi colon at the beginning.

This is a line of code:
    eat my shorts

    This is a comment:
    ;eat my shorts

Remove the semi colon, and the game reads the line again.

Maybe I'm blind or dumb, or maybe a bit of both, but I couldn't find an entry for the late legionaires and praetorians from the CMB. And it seems to me that they aren't commented out from the other files. If the attached files are the ones you're talking about, would mind having a look at them? If they are commented out, could you or someone uncomment them and send them back, please?

The long description, which is the bit you see on the screen, is in Data\Text\export_unit.txt.

In that entry is a code, which refers to an entry in Data\export_descr_unit.txt.

When you've found the entry in EDU, there's a code in there, which is used by Data\export_descr_building.txt.

The line in EDB which allows you to train the unit has been commented out. Uncomment it.

Pannonian's advice is excellent, but you're looking in the wrong files. You need to look at the analogues of those files in the ExRM subfolder. You posted the original vanilla files there.
