Low GPU Usage - Only in bad Company 2[SOLVED]

EDIT: Happy to report the problem has been fixed by reinstalling windows. BC2 is running great again.

-In fire fights or around a lot of action, my GPU usage drops to around 20% and stays there, while my FPS is around 20.

- If I look up at the sky, my GPU usage jumps up to around 90% while my FPS is around 130.

This has just started recently happening within the last 48 hours. My CPU Usage is fine and all 3 graphs in the task manager are very consistent.

I play on High-Medium w/ no AA and 8x AF on a HD 4850 1GB.

At first, I thought it was just 11.5 drivers, but I down graded to 11.2 and I am still having this problem.

I have monitored temps with HwMonitor and my GPU temp maxes out at 66c in BC2.

I also monitored my GPU clocks in-game and my GPU is not being underclocked.

WHat do you suggest I do?

I also have a Phenom II X3 @ 4.1GHz and 8GB DDR3 RAM. My CPU temps are fantastic, 45c under load.

My normal FPS is around 55-70 consistently. Only dropping under 50 when something huge blows up next to me.

How was your FPS before?

Your overclock could've gotten unstable, making you horribly CPU bottlenecked.

This only happens in BC2? It could be driver related, or your CPU overclocks could be a bit unstable. Since BC2 is the only game I know which really sucks all the juice out of a 3-4 core cpu.

I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7 last night. I'm redownloading BC2 off Steam right now. I'll let you guys know if its fixed.

You realize a driver update would have done the same thing right?

No. Driver updates cant solve corruption issues with Windows files.

I had 11.5 when the problem began. Or its a coincidence that the problem began right after I installed 11.5.

another case of windows over time bogging down and screwing up, i equate windows to a couch potato, when you first install it Windows is like a world class athlete but as the months with Tivo go on and eating pizza and chips it gets bloated and filled with garbage, that eventually just leads to performance death lol
