    Default installing xp on netbook

hey guys Ive been trying for ages to install a nlited version of xp on my eee pc,. i have a 8gb patriot XT usb and nothing i have tired works. I used bootsect to make the usb bootable and it wont boot fom it despite it showing in the boot menu I used diskpart, but kept getting invalid syntax errors. I tired copying the files directly, nothing works and im absolutely fed up. Anyone have a full proof, always works, 100%, non bs of getting it to actually install?

Thanks machine is a eee pc 701sd.

    install linux.

there was aproblem with the way that xp reads the installation files, leading to only possible solution of altering the iso or installing something better

Sorry that wasn't directed at you Thanks for trying to help me i should have made it a bit clearer that i was trying to do it via usb. For those who wonder about this in the future the guide here works well.

I just hate the "duh install linux" answer, as its the most elitist, idiotic comment ever. That cupcake is so cute <3

Please my good sir, I ask you kindly; leave and never return. Hatred of Linux is not tolerated here.

why is it elitist? have you installed and played with it? its quite easy to get the hag, and in netbooks, linux is going to offer snappy performance, unless you like the old garbage named xp

Well, I might be going a bit off-topic here, but Linux Ubuntu is a very simple and very good UI.
    Especially for netbooks.
