hi, I think EB is a good mod, and i am enjoying my time on the highly cared for MP. but i have a complaint.

1) The cavalry charges in EB would be amazing if only the horn wasn't broken. seriosly the horn that blows when cavs charge is awfull, without the amazing horn like in RSII the battle just lost its excitment. Get the horn from RSII and put it in EB it would be amazing. i know this because i started playing EB right after a game of RSII and i immediately saw the difference, Change the EB horn! it ruining my cav charges

I'd like to hear that charge horn though, if you can attach it here

yah , ive been looking for that horn sound file but i cant find it, any idea where it might be?

EB uses the vanilla horns AFAIK, they are all packed up in dat files which makes it a pain to edit if your not that knowledgeable about modding.

To change them you should be able put the new horn sound into the EB sounds folder and then edit descr_sounds_units_anims.txt. In that file you can set which sound to use for each cultures war horns (the horn section is at the end of the file).

thanks alot i found the files, but im geussing if i get the RSII horn file in EB i will get a un-synched error when i play mp with my friends,is that correct?

I always thought the charge is announced on the right moment. What I'm having problems with is that trumpet thing with the Romans. At first it sounded so funny I laughed for an hour. Now it's just lame.

AFAIK, and don't quote me on this, changing such sounds will not desync you or make your game incompatible. One thing you definitely don't want to do on MP is change the default formations file. You'll join games but it'll desync and you'll be seeing two different battles play out on each monitor.

RSII uses 5 charge sounds, but here are my favorites, BTW these charges were made by Hollywood which is why they feel so epic especially when your charging you cav to the back of some infantry.

I would say both of those sound files are from LOTR movies but I could be wrong.

You're not. The carthage horn is from the scene when the horns of the Rohirrim are heard and the orc leader turns around and sees them on the ridge. The second is when after scattering the orcs, the cavalry faces the charging elephant mutants and you can hear Theoden shouting "Take them head-on! Charge!" In fact in the last moment you can hear Merry's girly shout as well.

Well, you can hear someone saying "Sound the charge! Take them head-on! CHAAARGE!" It starts right at the beginning of the second recording.
