Hundreds of Turks gathered in Istanbul and Ankara Sunday, answering the call of local Islamist organizations to mark "Nakba Day"– the "catastrophe" of Israel's inception.
In Istanbul, about 150 demonstrators marched to the Israeli Consulate, shouting "Damn Israel" and "get ready Israel, the Mavi Marmara is coming."
News like this polluted the net yesterday and we had the mandatory self-righteous ''Israel BAD'' TWC thread on how to save the world from the join Jew-Cillon invasion ...
But does 150 nuts and adolescent really matters when Turkey had a 10 000 march about something else ? Something important like Censorship ?
There were 10,000 members of the Turkish Union of Engineers’ and Architects’ Chambers, or TMMOB, gathered in Ankara on Sunday to rally for their rights.
“Unpublished books are being confiscated. Methods are being sought to discipline the Internet. Everyone is being watched and listened to. Instead of democracy, we are headed toward a more oppressive authority. This is a huge detention system,” said TMMOB chairman Mehmet Soğancı, calling the recent developments the “September 12 referendum regime.”
Or that there is a youth movement trying to protest against the government's plan to filter the Internet and censors Porn ?
So in the international ''Blame the bogeyman baby killers day'', or Israeli Independence day, something actually worthwhile was happening about free speech ... but hey it is less self-righteous so what do I know.
So any one near Turkey to explain what the heck is happening there ?

At 12th September 2010, there was a referendum, it was %58 yes votes for the government's changes on the constitution.

Plus it is not uncommon of trade unions to engage in politics, so I don't get where you are coming from with your dismissal.
