The crown prince of Abu Dhabi has hired the founder of private security firm Blackwater Worldwide to set up an 800-member battalion of foreign troops for the United Arab Emirates, The New York Times reported on Sunday. The Times said it obtained documents that showed the unit being formed by Erik Prince’s new company Reflex Responses with $529 million from the UAE would be used to thwart internal revolt, conduct special operations and defend oil pipelines and skyscrapers from attack.

I'm not sure you saw 300... Remember when 300 Europeans held off a million Persians? Its like that.

Only there are 800 of them which due to the cubed factor means they could hold off about 19 million persians. By the time the Iranians overwhelm them the US, Britain, and Israel will have launched a counterstrike.

UAE are basing their foreign policy off of the works of Zack Snyder, and somehow that makes sense in the fantasy world they live in...

This is a good idea for them. They wont be goaded by their company military into going into war like could happen in the US and they get good quality (western) soldiers. Its win-win.

The strange thing is that all the listed recruits and drillers are from special force over the world and suddenly you have to include "French Foreign Legion" which is just a regular unit? Although I do agree that FFL is specialist in financial saving but it is not a special force.

Er... no... Bahrain has committed no combat forces whatsoever. Your suggestion is nonsensical; that these troops will be used to shoot protesters. They're going to take some time to form, the protests started two months ago, and the UEA hasn't had any.
