Hmm... you are playing with no time limits so why charge first? Tired your men out and Castile still got good position on the hill. Then- archer duel while occupying lower elevation? Usually leads to much higher casualties than you need.

The key to the entire battle though was probably the battle between the generals. You had desert cavalry but doesn't look like you used them on the enemy generals before sending in your own generals, then you got flank charged after a bad charge. Should have sent desert cavalry to weaken with javelins first, then draw enemy general nearer your own lines so your infantry can help out. Also charge 1 general first, while the other general runs to better position for a flank or rear charge. You could have taken the first general out with very few losses.

If your generals win then you can run down his infantry easily plus their morale is lower and it would have been easy battle. In early era generals are the most powerful units. Not really any reason to waste 20% of your army before charging with your general. Could have decimated some of his infantry with only losing 2-5 men from each general while killing 20% of his then you have more infantry to engage his generals and overwhelm Castile's battle line.

Brave to post a lost battle as the first one though. Congrats on that... if you have later era battles those tend to be much more interesting as units other than generals are actually dangerous.

Use 6x speed more often. Show the shot of your initial position and enemy position then 6x speed until first contact then normal speed for awhile, then 6x again until all armies engaged. Could have done the same battle but with victory in 1/3 less time.

Nice video. Better luck next time. But I've got 1 advice for you: why grouping all your army in one group. In my campaign I group units like spearmen in one group and archers in one group and so on. That will make battles easier. Can you please tell me what programm are you using to take videos?

I am pretty sure that you lost many men charging that hill and get shot in the back by your own missile troops.

Some more steps to the right and the terrain for your archers would have been a lot more better, you had superior archers...

And your desert cavalry should have charged in the back of the right enemy line during the melee battle.
Life is a joke, and one day you gonna laugh yourself to death about it.
