Default HALP! Mongols are annihalating me.

Okay, playing as the crusader states, late campaign, med/med (I know, but i'm a casual player) and the mongols are overwhelming me. I own most of asia minor, the holy lands and syria, and egypt. I did own northern Iraq, but the mongols took that.

My question is, is there any way to remove the mongols reinforcements? They have like 100 full stacks, of which only 20 are coming at me and I can barely cope, even with 3 full armies against 1 mongol army, I lose like 1.5 full stacks to defeat them, and they just keep coming.

    Help?

use lots of foot archers to counter their horse archers, and use "loose" formation to avoid to many casualties from the arrows, thats what i did and i did fine

I will probably have the same problem soon.

Im playing as Khwarezmian. I've conquered modern Iran, parts of Iraq and most of Caucasus.
I've tried to prepare for the invasion doing following things.

    - Built all troop buildings and armories in cities and castles so I can spam troops.
    - I plan to hold towns and castles and drain mongol armies at their gates.
    - I plan to hold them at bridges and mountain areas.
    - Armies will be cheap infantries and horse archers and archers. Those armies will camp at the hills.
    - City armies will have lots of artillery so I can slaughter mongols on the streets.
    - I will use assasins to hunt their generals.
    - Spies and imans will cause unrest.
    - Try to get peace with them and draw their attention into Cuman lands instead of mine.

Mongols do lose momentum after a while. At least I rarely see Mongols getting past Egypt or Kiev/Novgorod area.

welcome to the club....I keep fending them off but they keep on coming....I try to battle them in my settlements....in my many battles I have only beaten the Mongloids(Mongols) in the open field once! And I am superior in the open field but they got my number...

Only advice I can give you is take away their cavalry advantage.... Let them siege you and just utterly destroy them in the streets!
Don't forget to rep me if you like something I did/ or not lol

I have a crazy plan: Take all your units from the settlments that the Mongols will attack and use them to expand to the west.

use lots and lots of heavy cavalry, now by no means do I mean you will win the open field battles...but you will weaken them...aim for any and all melee cavalry they got and then for any heavy wall assualting infantry (your aim isn't to win the open field battle but eliminate the units they need to beat your city garrisons as described below). And yes I realize how expensive and how hard it is to build a heavy cavalry army, so fill it in with mercenaries and use them first and light cavalry if you must, don't bother with infantry, go with half stacks rather than slow yourself down) And make sure if you do eliminate there melee cavalry and wall assaulting infantry you then retreat from the battle and save as much units as you can for the next stack.

then hole up in your cities and castles with mace or axe foot solidiers...usually at least 7 (2 for the walls, 5 for the gate) and as much archers as you can muster (preferably the rest of the stack), then aim for all there infantry (ladders/seige towers etc, and aim for units not the siege equipment as the equipment doesn't matter because they rarely have enough foot soldiers to keep bringing more up to use it) so you only have one area to fight (where the ram breaks thru the gate) and make a u (with right angles so a half box with the open end facing the gatehouse) infront of the gate house (your goal isn't to kill the most on your lines of foot soldiers...but to stack/bottleneck the charge of horse when they do attack).

So with your archers and the two foot soldiers on the walls make sure you take out ALL of there other points of attacks, ladders, siege towers, etc and use at least 3 units to aim at the unit (not the ram itself) dragging the battering ram to slow it as much as you can (if you get one unit down past 5/6 units it can't use the ram, and they have to bring another (why you need so many archers). So if you pull it off you should have no one challenging your archers on the walls, and only the gatehouse open for attack (move the two foot soldier units down to the gatehouse after they secure the walls for the archers). Then bottleneck the charge as best you can and aim all archers at the horses just outside the gatehouse where they are the thickest.

Another big key is night fighter generals and assassins, the above strategy works best for the open field part if you can assassinate there night fighter generals (focus on those first) and use your own night figther to attack and surgically strike at there stacks one at a time, otherwise its a giant amount of micro management of your own cavalry stack to make sure you don't get cut off from your retreat when their reinforcements arrive.

Anyways...thats what i try to do.
