Mamluks stronger than Templars?!

why is it one group of mamluks can annhilate a group of templar knights easily?

This is why I love the mamluks! , but its probably because the mamluks have been trained since they were uber young, whereas the templars started at about 16 i think.

and when i said annhilated i meant rendered basically useless ( 4 men left ) and that was me charging into them which means if they had charged me i would have been properly been annhilated

triple bronze they were with 1 defence upgrade at least my templar knights got upto silver chev now and retreated with 1 man to be retrained My archers also slaughtered their remaining mamluks so all i have to do next time is remember not to charge them with hevy cav

Never fight mamluks with your cavalry. They have AP maces and more than enough attack/defense to inflict heavy casualties on any knights/cataphracts. Kill them from distance or use some cheap infantry.

This, it's why those horse archers cost so much but aren't all that steller as far as being a traditional horse archer goes. It's a bad idea to try to duke it out with most ME cavalry, the Mamluks especially.

You could charge in with the Templars, then disengage as soon as possible to retire for another charge. You'll still take losses on the withdrawal though.

Is something very wrong to charge some horse archers with heavy cavalry of hills full of sand of Levant. Is just a perfect case of using wrong unit. Best deal come when you understand that. Is imposible to outrun them, templars will overheat, and the result you will know. So let them come, and use you crappy archers. Will take less casualty and can use templars for what they are maded, crush in charge the infantry.

I charged them from the top of the hill and they didnt retreat so they didnt have time to tire me out else i wouldn't have charged them really
