[RTW DM AAR] The Revival of Macedon

Okay so I’ve decided to give AARing another go I’ll be playing as Macedon with Darth Mod, using the provincial campaign Europa 270BC. My objectives are not clear yet, I’ll might be trying to res Alexander's empire. BUT i must keep the Greek City States alive and not expand into Italy and I may take the Chimeran Peninsula cause i like it . This though will be following one character and one only, there should not be much pictures as well.

Cheats: I may use toggle_fow, I will use Forced Diplomacy and RTW factions no attack allies so i can keep the greeks alive and protect them.

Prologue :


Chapter 1 : The last Theban



My name is Androcles II of Thebes. I was born in Apollonia, Epirus and am one of the last of the Theban nobility perhaps even the last Theban alive. There were five noblemen who chose to join Alexander when they had the chance, betraying their own people, for life.Most of them and their family's were assassinated later in life. My grandfather was one of these five. Macedon became the ruler of many states even the mighty Persia, but after Alexander died his generals took command of his empire. Macedon is lead by a noble leader who has control over much of Macedon, Epirus, Thessaly and Aetolia. Macedon has been at war with its neighbours since its foundation, but have been allied to the Greeks in the south for the same amount of time.

My father was the governor of Apollonia since he was 28, he was murdered by an assassin at the age of 37. I was 13 at the time at a school in Pella learning about the tactics of war, governing and how to make impressions with nobility, this made me the last male of Theban nobility.

It has been seven years since my father was assassinated I'm 20 years old now and I have been adopted into the Macedonian royal family by Gyras the heir to The Kingdom of Macedon. I have been tracking the man that killed my father, and found out that he fled to the Pelopenese. soon Ill will have revenge.

Chapter 2 : A New Player

Since my adoption into the royal family of Macedon under the Heir, Gyras I have won one important victory for me. It was to save Thermon, a victory that resulted in the defeat of most of my forces and the death of Damasos.



An unnecesary death but one to please Ares, the war god. Although his death was was because of his own foolishness, he charged headfirst into a phalanx. I will avenge his death to the people who caused it, the Spartan controlled Greeks. Damasos was the one whose task was who reestablish the Peloponnese under Macedonian rule. His death was a blessing in disguise, he was a very bad military leader as could be seen by his death, and because of his death I was put in charge of the operation.


As the strategos of the invasion I invaded Corinth first, an easy victory 2000 of my men verses under 1000 of theirs. Once Corinth was mine I knew that people might not accept Macedonian rule so I established a separate state, the Koinon Korinthos (League of Corinth). The League of Corinth is a states separate to the Macedonian crown but under its Vassalage, unknown to the people. It is also to keep the population happy and make them think that they are not under Macedonian command and taxes.

Very good start and updates. Where do you intend to strike next?
Just a couple things:

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say in the second part of that, so you may want to make that clearer.

okay thanks I have corrected the first one and made some minor changes to the first update to make more sense, but where is the Ill will? i cant seem to find it. THb im happy that I have to updates and only two things wrong

Chapter 3 : A Rising Power



Corinth is the capital of the newly established League of Corinth and is also the only city, but the league still has close ties with Macedon and Androcles is still the son of the heir and is next in line for the throne if the king were to die. This is a position that he has only because he is the greatest Macedonian general since Alexander the Great.

“Corinth, a fine city worthy of jealousy of the others. Corinth and Athens were the most wealthy cities in the age of the Peloponnese, while Thebes, Sparta and Argos where the major military powers. I have decided to move the major army of Corinth towards a lightly defended Athens to relive the Glory days of Corinth and Athens, Then all will bow before their wealth and power.”

While in the siege of Athens the Greeks besieged Corinth luckily I had constructed the equipment needed for the siege and I assaulted the city at dawn the next day. The siege was easy with minimal resistance, I believed that there could have been more if it had been conquered under the Macedonian flag. After I had taken the city I left a minor garrison and left back for Corinth to break the siege. When I arrived I was prepared for battle but once my enemy had heard that I arrived the quickly abandoned the siege and retreated to Elis. From that day Sparta and the Greeks became more aggressive, raiding and attacking our trade routes and farms more constantly than before.

“A messenger arrived in my court at around midday, he then proceeded to tell me where was raided and when. I was getting annoyed at these constant attacks so I told my officer to get the men into the courtyard.”

Once all of the men had arrived in court yard I decided what I planed to do. “MEN! Tomorrow will be a day to remember. Tomorrow we will march on the Greeks that are not under our banner or the banner of Macedon. We will strike of their capital and take it or die trying. The Spartans will not give their city willingly, we must forces them out! This is a task that I believe that you can manage and manage easily! The Spartans are bankrupt and should not be able to afford much men, so Sparta shall be defended lightly and will be easy for the taking. Men, is this a task you can manage?” All of the men cheered and their crys echoed “Okay, tomorrow we march on Sparta!” This was greeted by many cheers and crys “For CORINTH!” and “For Glory!”

Chapter 4 : The End of an Era


In the morning before my army and I marched for Sparta a messenger arrived with a message from Pela. In the short 5 years that I’ve been in the royal house of Macedon, Macedon has grown from a average power to the most powerful state in the world. Overpowering the Seleucid's, the Ptolemaic Empire and Rome. The Greeks are but bankrupt weaklings to the south.


The next day we marched on Sparta, the men were nervous about marching on the legendary men of Sparta. It took us 1 and a half years to reach Sparta, we then sieged Sparta for a year before Spartan reinforcements came at assaulted us. It was 1500 of my men against 1000 of theirs.

Before the battle I could see that many of the men were scared, so i knew that I would have to give one of the best speeches of my life. “Men, on this Field today, there are 1500 men under my banner, and 500 under each on the enemy banners. Men! they were scared of us, they needed reinforcements in order to make the, THINK! that they could even try to take us on. They do not have enough men to even try to take us on. There are little trained Spartans in their army you need not fear them. quick grab you sarissa’s and swords, the enemy is near.”

Battle was join quickly my army was split in two as the Greeks came towards my army as the same time from different angles, their men dropped as the ran into my sarissa’s. The dreaded Spartans were not the Spartans of old, my men feared them before the battle, towards the end they made them flee.

The battle was short lived after that, as soon as the Spartans routed the enemy army was disheartened and when one of their Generals fell the entire army collapsed and ran. I unfortunately did not catch the other General but I slew many of their soldiers running from the field.

After the battle Sparta surrendered to me, thinking that I would treat them nicely as I had done with all of the other city's, they were wrong. All men of fighting age were killed to stop a revolt. I then gave an ultimatum to the last of the Greek states. They would join me, I would return Sparta back to the Spartans and assist them where necessary.

There will probably be two chapters left in this AAR as I have found that RS2 works on my computer also these chapters will not be about the game it will be just written chapters.

Very good updates, and good to see the Greeks are just about finished. I look forward to the next update, though I think you spoke too soon when you were happy at the lack of errors. You have a lot more of them this time.

Still, the updates were very good, and don't get discouraged by the errors, some days there are more of them, some days there are less.

Most errors aren't even because the person doesn't know the right thing to say, but since he wrote it, he knows exactly what it's SUPPOSED to look like and doesn't see the errors.
