If Morocco and Jordan join then the council will include all arab monarchies, I think this move was made to protect Arab monarchies since Morocco is poor and will not add much to the council

Morocco and Jordan are a different story though, they are not nearly as authoritarian as the rest of the Arab Gulf. i am curious though as for how far are they willing to go to put down the revolution in Yemen.

Yeah, and neither Jordan nor Morocco seem to mind the use of external troops to crush a movement for democracy. It doesn't really surprise me either, everyone is caught up on stupid issues of sectarianism like sunni-shia or chauvinistic nationalism, which are just used as fronts to wholly ignore the urge for democratic reform.

you really think this coalition is meant to repel any foreign invasion?

It is more probable that a contributing reason for the coalition is not to repel a foreign invasion, but to act as a deterrent to foreign intervention. However, given that these additions aren't even in the Gulf, but are somewhat repressive Islamic regimes, it is more probable that the coalition was formed to combat democratic revolution within their states.
I wonder if the name will remain GCC after Morocco joins
Wow. yeah, it should be renamed at this point, Yemen still isn't in it, despite being in the Gulf, and neither is Iraq; despite both being in the gulf for football purposes (Khaleeji 21!). It's basically just a shop for repressive monarchs at this point, who have a common interest in opposing the democratic movements.
I find it funny, and tragic, simultaneously, that the Arab states are moving to greater unity at this point, due to the 'threat' of Iran; Israel, the United States and no other force could make these countries really unite around each other, but their own fear of their Islamic brothers can. If the Arab world had showed as much unity supporting Palestine as they now show opposing Iran and Qadhafi...

Haha, you raise good point. Here's some rep. Though its more to do with their fear of their own citizens rather than Iran. Countries try to scare their populations into obedience by convincing them of a foreign threat, Iran does this and the Arab world does it as well. But this move obviously has more to do with the revolutions and uprisings.
I know I don't.
I consider Morroco quite authoritarian to be sincere.

Might as well rename it, then. Perhaps the Arab League?![]()
I think it has more to do with the rise of Iran than anything else. Jordan is extremely anti-Iran, and is too reliant upon the West and too worried about relations with the West to send troops to fight the Arab Spring.
Jordan is also not in any danger of an Egypt-Tunis style overthrow.

1st Iraq then Afganistan then Libya.Syria will be next to free the people from Assad and weaken Iran and then Iran will be attacked by Israel and the USA.Then the Arab and Muslim world will be subjects to the USA-ISRAEL Empire.
WTF tom cruise. That is retarded.
Especially as Iran is not the leader of the Muslim world (not that there really is one, anymore than there is a Christian world, I mean how can you put a Kosovor and an Indonesian in the same generalization) and is not Arab.

Yes but they ARE muslim and a threat to USA and Israels dominance in the region and therefore must be bent to the will of the ring of Sauruman![]()
Seeing Israels leader and Obama talking together about how they will inforce sanctions against Syria and Iran showed me the truth and the future.
