Also some friendly advice, what you want to do ASAP is to take Imladris to get the High Elves out of the picture. Take that and you doom them to being stuck in their own little corner and you won't have to worry about them until much later. But, be aware that it does have a garrison script so bring a very large army.

It won't be save game compatible so starting over will be necessary. And you can get the Balrog in the campaign, so something to look forward to.

Don't know, haven't played MOS yet (I'm waiting for the RC/RR merge). I don't think it makes much (if any) direct change to the OotMM but, some of the changes it makes to the overall campaign does look pretty good. I'd say just continue on without it but, that's just my opinion which is normally in the minority so don't let it influence you any.
