Have CA begun the development of the new Total war game?
I know there will be an expansion or a DLC first, but CA have two teams one of them maybe has started the development of the new game?

I hope they make a Total War:Rome II whit a new engine.

They started I think when they finished Empire. It was the same with rome which began development the same time as medieval1

Developer teams usually stagger their work... like others have said.

Next title begun many years ago, the beginning team pretty much lays the groundwork. If its a new engine they help develop it, if its a similar system to Empire then they work on the basics like the map.

Yup, they're right, the basis of the game engine begins years before we see any crystallization.

i believe the warscape engine first came under construction around when Rome was released, i expect the rome team started making a new engine when empire was released and when that game is released and S2 is no longer supported then a new engine will begin to be built.

Simply writing an idea down is a start. So they could`ve started when Shogun was only 50% in development for all we know.
