    Icon3 Version 2.0 goals and discussion (no Preview)

    [Project name] 2.0

    Hello mates.

    You will wonder about the missing project name here,
    well this comes because we will step to the next war in this timeframe.
    But not only, 2.0 will contain two different parts.

    1. BEIC update

    2. New project


    In the BEIC update we will fix some minor issues. We where very careful in the creating phase

    and as result we got a stable version out with most of the features we wanted in the mod.
    BEIC will be also getting a few improvements, but the base as it is now is good and we think
    there is no need for an full rework in the next time.

    The new project is a sister of BEIC, which means we can take parts of our work as base and build around

    a new interesting mod which will give you again the possibility to focus on a scenario in the 19th century.
    There where countless interesting conflicts we want to do, but we have to chose one of them.
    The Crimean War!

    This war take place from 1853 till 1856. This means it ends one year before the Indian Mutiny happens.

    The opposing parties where

    The Russian Empire (major)

    Bulgaria, Kingdom of Greece, Serbia, Montenegro (minor)


    versus


    British Empire

    French Empire
    Ottoman Empire
    Kingdom of Sardinia


    This is the situation.

    "Most of the conflict took place on the Crimean Peninsula, but there were smaller campaigns in
    western Anatolia, Caucasus, the Baltic Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the White Sea." (Wikipedia)
    Here we bend a bit the situation to bring more fun into this mod with:
    "What if the conflict expands?"
    Well in the ETW campaign map the Crimean Peninsula is only one region,
    and this is why we will expand this. But how exactly we can tell you later.

    Finally BEIC and Crimean War will be two sister mods and both will be listed
    under the new major project name. This name will be announced later.


    Now you can (and for this i created the thread also) give some suggestions about the further projects.
    We can discuss at this state all. My two team partners are busy the next time, so we have some time.
    I am also looking for an additional modder who can do unit models and skins.

    What about the Anglo-Persian War? 1856-1857 It was a war between Afghanistan, Britain,and their East India Trading Com. VS Persia and will you still update the other counties of the rest of the world?

    You also shouldn't make a different mod but have the new war and the current one on the same map because they are so close together in time wise.

    It will be one mod with 2 different campaigns.
    But Persian War is also a good idea. maybe we take this also for the BEIC part in 2.0.

    Wait, i got an idea. We can do it as the "road to independence" campaign from vanilla ETW.

    Step 1) Crimean Wars
    Step 2) Anglo Persian War
    Step 3) Indian Mutiny

    What do you think?

    Yes it's good but that will also reduce you to only 4 wars, and there are many more.
    I can give give a few suggestions that fit the time to still be on one map and empire total war restrictions of provinces.

    And are there going to be any new units for the Indian Mutiny or make the 64lb cannons be pulled by elephants?

    Crimean War, huh? Fantastic! It'll be amazing if you can do this, possbily rework all European factions as well to 1850's standards?

    I was thinking we could possibly do a Wars of German/Italian Unification. They would be interesting.

    Thanks mate, this team is doing many small projects for their Victoria mod. Sadly progress seems very slow there. I own NTW too but decided to stay at ETW for now.
    We will see what's next, now is only a theoretical phase.

    Okay i said this a bit wrong, i meant a series of 3 campaigns. But each will have the grand campaign as base.

    I just realize that if you use The Road to Independent, will that also only allow you to play as one side?

    Have you have a chance to take a look at my other posts with the suggestions for improving the soldiers and game?
    He is not gonna do that, he is gonna use a launcher and the Grand Campaign, only loading different pack files through the loader, DMUC style. Right? Right? RIIIIGHT SHOKH?

    I think that he is saying to use the 4 steps in The Road To Independence for different campaigns.
    He also say that it is campaign base like how CA made it for the USA in the last step. But I think your idea makes sense. I still want to improve The Indian Mutiny first.

    Both things are possible, but launcher based it would be easier.

    My roadmap will be looking like this the next months:
    1 - BEIC update
    2 - Anglo Persian War
    3 - Crimean War
    At least this would be a full package then. The progress depends also how much units we want to bring in and how many 3D graphic modder i get.
    Anyway i will work on soon

    well shokh.also strat map generals has no sword before the battle.i saw in civil war too.
