    Default How to make factions last longer?

    I like long games but sadly many faction die out too fast. My idea is to change the game to make family members more frequent. So does anyone know

    a) how to influence man of the "man of the hour event" ? (canīt find the trigger for this event)

    b) remove assassins from the game. My guess is to disable the recruitment of assassins in export.description.txt. It should work AFAIKT.

    c) any other tips are welcome. One change you can make is to increase the amount of family member a faction get when becoming a horde.

    you like long games? well just dont do anything for few turns and give AI some advantage. Also when one faction dies, others become stronger and you have better anemy AIs on the map. i dont know what else you need... also assasinators are not really successfull... most of the times they die soon.

    Actually I try to keep many other factions alive. They usually finish eachother off though :original:

    Easiest way to get rid of assassains or any other unit from the game is to make it impossible to recruit them at the export_descr_building.txt. Basically remove any line with assassain in it and that should do the trick.
    I do not think you can influence the man of the hour bit. It just happens.

    Thanks, thatīs what I thought. I guess removing the assassins in buildings.txt will not have any impact on the ones already there in the descr.strat.txt?

    It would eliminate assasins after the first ones die out.

    I removed the assassins and it works fine. Glad to finally get rid of this unrealistic feature in the game.
