The Smith.
Hello everyone I am Narf and I am here with the final proposal.
I hope that you will read this before placing your vote as new information will be provided in here. There were several questions asked in the proposal, some of them were these:
- What stops the smith from making an infinite amount of weapons?
- How does he gain income?
- What if there are no buyers for the weapons he is making?
- Will the smith choose the price on the weapons he sells?
- How is it that he becomes a Master Smith?
Well let us see if I can answer these question for you. They may answer some of those you are already asking yourself but are too polite to ask.
Here are the answers:
- What would stop the Smith from making an infinite amount of weapons?
- Well, I have made a fairly balanced and simple point system. In all you have 12 points. One for each month in the year. Now the way you use these is like this: For each five florins the material costs you it will also cost you half a point. The reason I say half a point is because there are things which cost five florins but most of them cost for example 20 florins to make and that would be two points for that. So if you only made items with a materiel cost of 20 you would be able to make six. Simple yes?
- How does he gain income?
- He doesn't gain a yearly income, not even the base freeman pay of 5 florins. This is because a smith is guaranteed to make weapons that he can sell every year.
- What if there are no buyers for the items he has been making?
- Then he sells them to Baldrik's Emporium. The price Baldrik will pay is equal to the "Points" You have used to make it. So You can make 12 Florins by just selling your items to Baldrik's each year, this is not much and should encourage you to try and sell your wares to other players.
- Will the Smith choose the price on the weapons he sells?
- Yes. Unless he sells them to Baldrik's.
- How is it that he becomes a Master Smith?
- He will progress in rank when he has used a total of 36 points on items.
