The last 3 days I've checked Al Jazeera there has been a daily quota of at least 1 gruesome sectarian killing. But we don't hear about this at all. What's the explanation?

Because it does not suit the picture...
Miss me yet?
Ever since the US troop withdrawal began, there has been a shift of concentration (in Western media) to the war in Afghanistan. Apparently, it's only important when there are American troops, but the post sectarian violence and possible prelude to civil war from which many people are suffering is not that important.

on the OP:
No it doesn't matter, it is insane that everyone in the world to be interested in what everyone else do. The media was interested when US troops where there, they left and probably nobody will remember where Iraq is, this is life.
There are 80+ countries the general public don't know, the globe is still spinning.

Well, it kind of matters if someone tries to boast about this hackjob the US barely pulled out of the sewer for themselves as a great way to bring democracy and stability for the people that are still not sure if there's a war of secession lurking in the near future when the US troops are pretty much out of the picture.
One can be hopeful that it doesn't happen, wouldn't be really anyone's achievement but the different factions of Iraq after years of strife pulling together on their own.
"Sebaceans once had a god called Djancaz-Bru. Six worlds prayed to her. They built her temples, conquered planets. And yet one day she rose up and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

Ummm if it's on al-Jazeera, how does the claim "we don't hear about it" make ANY sense?

@Menelik, what a sickening video. Sunnis can be such pricks.
Because Obama is president now, so everything is good now![]()
Plain and simple,Iraq has super-duper democratic, pro Western and easilly controled goverment, that still has to accomplish several things for its owners thee
And obviously not reforming Iraq into somewhat more progressive state, especially an ellective democracy(since in this case they would end up kicked out of Iraq sooner or later for obvious reasons, like Arab "fondness" for Israel and USA-Israel "love",that would certainly reflect itself on the results of every really free election held in Iraq),but wait... who cares, oil supplies are secured
I wonder one thing,if Americans and NATO really care about genocide and discrimination then why don't they assist opposition movements in replacing Saudi and Bahraini monarchies or what made them ignore everything what happened in Darfur,Rwanda or Congo?![]()
