Well atm my med2 bc is located in c/programfiles/sega/med2totalwar/mods/broken_crescent_kingdoms.

i just installed ib 2 and it went fine into kindoms mod folder and runs fine from there. should the kingdoms folder be where broken crescent should be?

p.s i got past that first error message my running as admin but the failed to launch. i will re-install mod..

p.p.s there is mention not to install into the progams folder but i dont think it lets me, it seems to auto create a sega folder in my programs on the c drive.

am i right in thinking something is misleading in the instructions?

    I think you misunderstood instructions.

It doesn't matter how you name directory where you install M2TW. We use name "M2TW/mods/broken_crescent_kingdoms", because that's most natural. Broken Crescent is mod for Medieval 2 Total War with Kingdoms expansion, thus advised installation path is "M2TW/mods/broken_crescent_kingdoms".

well for me when installing medwar2 gold with kingdoms the med war2 and the kingdoms folders install seperately.

and if i choose med war 2/mods and install bc there it doesnt work but it does work if i install it 2 a seperate folder called mods where the kingdoms mods are located (i.e tuetonic/americas).

i chose exactly the same install path for medwar2 and kindoms. i left it to c drive. unless i perhaps i need to select kingdoms to install to c:medwar2/mods folder...

if you understand. but way it looks like your instructions are worded its the medwar 2 mods folder which is not part of your programs directory (your instructions are to install out of this...which doesnt seem to be working for me as something to do with sega always seems to be created by default).

    but it is working nonetheless.

some pics. first is c drive

    What automatically creates Sega folder?

All you have to do is to install BC 2.3 into "c/programfiles/sega/med2totalwar/mods/broken_crescent_kingdoms". The message from the screenshot you have provided informs that bc_launch can't find kingdoms.exe, and that means bc_lanuch and kingdoms.exe are not where they should be. So I assume you have installed BC 2.3 into wrong location.

My friend, you have totally misunderstood installation instructions.

By "outside Program Files" we mean that M2TW and Kingdoms and any mods should not be installed in "C:/Program Files" directory, for the sake of peace and quiet. This doesn't mean that you should install it right into "C:/". "Outside x directory" means "in any directory except Program Files (and OS directory, obviously!)". So, e.g. you could install it into "C:/Medieval2", but not right into "C:/".

And now you have a total mess on your C:/ drive. You have M2TW files mixed with Program Files, Users and Windows directories. That's not directly harmful in any way to your operating system, but such a mess may be confusing later. You should clean this up.

And I'm quite sure you have chosen wrong installation path and thus your problems with launching BC. Also, I still don't understand what do you mean by separate folders. Kingdoms campaigns are installed into M2TW/mods folder, just like any other modifications based on kingdoms.exe. So, in M2TW/mods folder you have "crusades", "teutonic", as well as broken_crescent_kingdoms" etc.

well for me unless i create a folder on the c drive the game automatically goes to program/sega/medwar2.

so i dont rem your instructions saying create a folder on the c drive. nvm i'll clean up and remove.

and thats not how my kingdoms is installing...ill try again.

Neither M2TW, not BC forces through installation into "Program Files/SEGA". You can define your own path of installation. Did you know that?

It doesn't matter. All matters is to not install it into Program Files = outside Program Files. We assume it is obvious that most applications, including games, should have separate folders.

Out of pure curiosity - how your Kingdoms are installed?

Because what I know is that if you have DVD version of the game, then M2TW goes into directory specified by you - it may be "C:/Bunch of Daisies", and Kingdoms expansion is installed into "C:/Bunch of Daisies/mods" always. Otherwise Kingdoms campaigns (teutonic, crusaders, americas, british_isles) won't work.

well for me evertime i install medwar2 something goes into into my program files. usually a sega folder.

but i think i know whats going wrong. the kindgoms folder is being created seperately and not in medwar2/mods for some reason. perhaps i am not specifying it to go there. then i can run bc installer and tell it 2 install there as well.

so my bad (thats why the couldnt find message appeared first time).

Okay, now I get it. Yes, that's possible Kingdoms goes into different location than M2TW. But both should be merged; I mean, Kingdoms should go into main M2TW folder. And then BC 2.3 into your "M2TW/mods/broken_crescent_kingdoms".
