how to change screen setting to 16:9

i install it first using 3:4 screen setting, now i changed my monitor to 16:9 but everytime i play it doesnt display 16:9? i already check the in game settings and click on widescreen but nothing..please help me.

Reinstalling should fix it, but that's the hard way I'm sure.

Finding the Config.ini might help.

I'm looking into it for you right now, one minute.

You using any mods?

Also, check to make sure the line in this file is set to 1.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Everything should be on the screen fro you to track down that preference file. Just open it with notepad or wordpad.

If it isn't set to 1, your options may not be saving. So I would go ingame and change everything to the way you want it. Then quit the game open the preference file and change the resolution manually.

Then save and right click the preference file and change it to read only so the game wont change it.

Just change it, save and close.

Then right click the file go to properties, and set it to read only, hit accept.

Should hold the changes after that.

Only problem is your in game options wont hold any changes you'll have to do them all from the Config. Which isn't a big deal I wouldn't think.

well, i changed the in game to widescreen and save, go out..the preference says widescreen: 1 but when i play it still 3:4, i tried install again in seperate windows (the older version) and it played full screen 16:9..i guess i have to re install all again from scratch..sigh..btw i'm playing third age with MOS 5.2. thanks for being a good samaritan Remo

btw u should change ur sig man, that is totally not u..i dont know, just a hunch.

If you're playing from the Third Age mod folder, you need to change the Config file that's located in that folder. Not the one located in the vanilla M2TW folder.

Find it and change it, see if that helps.

As for my sig, I might plan to change it, maybe I'll be REMO Completely good samaritan. That sig was back when I played MP in ETW, people didn't like that I would outsmart them and then call them on their mistakes.

That was my fault, I should have asked again if you were using mods.

Anyways, I hope that fixes it, as I'm headed to bed.

If it doesn't I'll be on tomorrow and we can work it out some more. Just don't give up on the matter, I know I had to fiddle with my settings in the same way to get widescreen working.

when i open preference from inside mods theres nothing that says video or anything to change widescreen on it..wow im stressed out right now

yay, finally i found the problem man, before on the setting i used the max for my 3:4 monitor which was 1280 x 1024 res..then i changed it on the in game setting for campaign and battle map to 1080 (full HD) and voila problem solved..thank u so much for telling me not to give up man...im right on the verge there, ive been asking this questions on a lot of threads but only u that cared enough to offer me solutions my dear friend. im new here and i owe u that rep thing when im allowed to someday. Gratitude!

Hey guys i know this is from a long time ago, i hope you can still reply, but i have the same problem except i cannot see the game when i launch it, i can hear it but cannot see it, i have tried manually changing the res ect. Please help?!
