    Default Buddha vs Jesus

I just finished a book about Buddha. These stories are interesting. Moreover, I think Buddha sacrifice his life more than Jesus

    - He was a prince
    - He had 1000 disciples and leave them all to continue his path of saving the world
    - He forgave all of his enemies. He bless themm all of the god things and hope that they will reborn and join them.

Doesnt being humilated and killed count for anything?
I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a . Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow

Well, my point is that if you orchestrate to be humiliated and killed that it's quite hard for it to be count for anything.

I'm an atheist, but wasn't Jesus forgiving of his enemies too?

Actually most serious historians will tell you that the Historical Figure known as Yoshua did exist.

Anyways... haven't red about Buddha but Jesus was one crazy rabbi.

Oh dear..You dont think Jesus existed? Even despite the evidence that contradicts this claim? I suggest you and anyone else in this thread to see this issue further discussed here:

Yeah, that I'm really talking about.

Buddha is a real guy. His orgin was a great prince that many academic confirmed. He did not argue that he was a son of god or something. He teached people to behave and learn the theory of life. He claimed that it is his mission and he did it because he wanted to have an immortal life. Plain and simple.

Well, we have another guy that claim he was son of god. He claimed that his missions were under the name of mighty god and blah blah blah.

In my opinion, Buddha had more credibility than Jesus Christ had.

This "other guy" lived a perfect life. Buddha was just another guy, he neither lived particularly well, nor frankly died well. Buddha himself is a mediocre and non-relevant person, regardless of the philosophy he authored. Jesus lived a heroic life, on top of the principles he authored (which were also heroic).

Yes but Jesus wasn't a real guy and so this case is closed. Haven't you been reading? Scholarly debate going on right here.

Executed as criminal is herotic, I see.

Not to mention Buddha did not need the BS invisible friend to spread his philosophy.

Buddha never claimed he was the son of God and he emphasised a code of ethics rather than a reliance on religious texts.

Yes because Jesus emphasized a reliance on religious texts?

Does it matter if he was divine or not?

Yes because Jesus emphasized a reliance on religious texts?
There is a reason why the New Testament is held in such high regard by practicing Christians.

in what way didn't Buddha? And in what way did jesus? I'll give you jesus living like someone with delusions of grandeur (specifically a messiah complex) but that doesn't prove a thing.
