I hereby do nominate the legendary Hader for the Opifex award.
Hader as many of you will know has been instrumental in providing the visitors and users of Total War Centre with his sheer hard work and continuous graft, the TWC Modding Registry. Having set it up in early 2007, he's worked tirelessly since then in providing TWC with the most comprehensive register for Total War Modifications anywhere on the 'net. The registry is in my opinion, one of the most underrated tools available at Total War Centre. It contains registered information on over two hundred total war modifications. The information in the registry caters to modders and mod fans alike, with visitors having the ability to search the sub-forum for mods that could be of interest to them, with such information as official links to modifications and important descriptive information. A brilliant way of taking a user looking for a mod to try on a Total War game, finding one they fancy in the registry and then navigating to the official place to download and get further information. I would love to see how many people have gone to the registry and then used it to find a mod they may never have heard of if it wasn't for the fantastically awesome tool it is. More people downloading mods - more users 'appy 'appy!
It's also a very handy tool for modders with Permission information on the modifications made by modders in their registered mods - very useful if you're looking to use the likes of a model or map from another mod in your own.
This would be an impressive contribution to modding at Total War Center if it was done by a team - but Hader's done all of the graft for years with very little help and I feel he more than deserves to get Opifex on the basis of this alone. But this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Hader's Total War contributions.
Downloaded by a near 20,000 users, Hader's All Factions Mod for RTW 1.5 is an effective solution for many users in providing leader pics, faction descriptions and faction maps for all Rome Total War factions where users would find it difficult or time consuming to do it themselves.
Hader's also contributed yet more of his time in the past to helping in the Scriptorium. There he's brought some real gems in terms of articles to the greater attention of the TWC membership - many of them in the field of modding. Here's but a few examples: eins, zwei, drei .
Hader was also involved and inspired by the highly rated Lusted's "Terrae Expugnandae" down the years and is constantly on hand to help members with their modding and Total War needs. There are more than several gazillion examples of this this and this.
Hader's played his part in establishing Ladders and Tournaments - allowing for Total War Warlords to push their muscle around on the battlefield.
I could go on and on and on about the sheer number of important contributions Hader's made to the Total War areas of the site in over five years. His work in the registry and elsewhere on the Total War side of the site has undoubtedly required countless time from him and his contribution is nothing short of magnificent. I was some what shocked he didn't have Opifex already - he's up at the top of the list of fantastic contributors who should have Opifex.
It is a no brainer Hader should get Opifex and I commend it to the house!![]()
