Default Crash after "Play" in Launcher

I'm using Roma Surrectum 2.1a on the BI engine, WIndows XP Home, not using steam. I selected the Multiplayer tab in the launcher to try to play it over Hamachi, and the game immediately crashed when I clicked Play. The error message is "The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application." This now happens no matter which faction I select. How do I fix this?

Also I installed the multiplayer launcher 0.95

    Hi
It's a problem with the RTW.exe itself, you may need to reinstall everything again.

Hm. Fantastic. Well, this is just the sort of thing I kept all the patches and installer files around for.

It may be worth double checking this first by going to your RS2 folder, and using the .bat file that corresponds to your version of RTW. If you get same error, you know its the RTW.exe

I did a disc clean up, defragged my comp, and restarted my computer, and now everything works perfectly. Strange, but I'm certainly not complaining.
