Title says it all, we're interested in whether players usually play with the fog of war turned on or off.
Yes, I keep FoW turned on (only tiles near own settlements and characters visible).
No, I turn FoW off (entire map visible).
Sometimes I keep FoW on, others I turn it off.
Good one.
I'd say on, but it really depends on my mood. Sometimes, I just want to go for realism and because nations (and I assume that's the same in ME) were pretty awary of the things happening around them including conquests of their neighbours and such, so I also tend to switch it off from time to time. It's really 50-50 for me.
edit: Darn, now I can't vote because there's no option to say both![]()

I keep it off. I prefer knowing everything on the map, when I turtle it keeps things more interesting to me if I can see the history being made in other nations. I can understand why people keep it on for realism and whatnot, I just prefer to see everything.
I wish I had it on more. More exciting not knowing. I really liked the lotr-feature of the palantir where you have an opportunity to remove fog of war but it comes with a price of corruption.
So while I often start with fog of war the longer in campaign I get I remove it more and more.
that requires scripting, obviously, and FATW are no-script mod.
Personally, I mostly keep FOW off, and prefer using spies and diplomatic "map information", unless there is "faction destroyed" event (dunland, usually), and I see the Eorls kick everything in the north... It add the challlanges.
Although I must admit, first time I play as Rhun, I usually got stuck and do that cheat to see the Adunabar spamfest route![]()
The current results are really helping the team (33.33% - 33.33% - 33.33%)
I turn it on occasionaly to make sure there are no enemy stacks nearby when I shuffy family members and elite units around. I also use it to keep up on what is happening in the rest of the world.
"Oh no! Uzbeks have drunk my battery fluid!"
You mean then that you actually have the fog of war on for most of the game and you disable it occasionally.
Same here, you mean you are turning it off in order to see if there are enemies nearby etc.
Just making sure everybody is on the same page about what having fow on/off means, because misunderstandings will affect the poll result.
FoW on = seeing only areas of the map close to your own characters and settlements
FoW off = seeing all the map
I like it on.

Drinks from Bill Cosby, Flint Michigan tap water, Plane rides from Al Qaeda, Anything on the menu at Chipotle, Medical procedures from Mengele
Yeah I meant I like having the cheat on...Which means I voted for the wrong one. Oh well.

Unfortunately 33%-33%-33% again since i choose the last once!
Normally i like to turn on FOW but sometime i turn it off for information
My OC characters, be sure to meet them both![]()

My mod Genghis Khan Total War

Sometimes on, sometimes off. Unless I understand Aradan less than I think, he plans something with it...
Ομολογα τα ολα ρε!![]()
I usually use spies and (especially) watchtowers to watch my borders. But every few turns I turn FOW off to check out how are other states doing. I think its quite silly that for example RK wouldn't have a clue that Dunland conquered Edoras if they didn't have some agent nearby. It would be great if minimap would always show us the political division of ME.
On!
I usually use depleted units of cavalry to scout the terrain on the campaign map before I move a huge stack, so that I can intercept enemy armies, or attempt to ambush them if the terrain permits.
I read this so called Bible, and found it to be a third rate story in which this so called 'jesus' is nothing more than a shameless lampooning of Brian, which has inspired joy and laughter in millions.

I keep it on. It always seem to me that most of the peoples of Middle-earth were quite well informed of current events. So I'm happy to keep it on to see what else is happening in the world. Adds to the immersion.
well, I bet we'll get much clearer result if the wording is....
do you use " toggle_fow " command?![]()
