Thread: BI / Alex

  1. #1

    Default BI / Alex

    ____________
    BI:

    step one: go to:
    program files\rome total war [gold]\bi\data\ui\roman\interface
and copy "battlepage_03" into the same place in your THS data folder:
    (program files\rome total war [gold]\THS\data\ui\roman\interface).

step two: go to THS\data\text and copy the file named:
    "imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt" -- rename the copy
    "barbarian invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.txt"

step three: go into the THS\data\world\maps\campaign folder and copy the folder named:
    "imperial_campaign" -- rename the copy
    "barbarian_invasion"

    step four:
copy your bi shortcut or make a new one. right click and select properties.
in the box labeled 'target' paste:
"Program Files\rome total war [gold]\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:THS with the quotations.

If you have steam, right click on your rtw gold icon and select properties and then set launch options launch in the space, type: -mod:THS
    __________________________________________

    Alex:

    If you have Alex.exe

    step one:
copy your Alex shortcut or make a new one. right click and select properties.
in the box labeled 'target' paste:
"Program Files\rome total war \RomeTW-Alex.exe" -noalexander -mod:THS (with the quotations).

If you have steam, your alexander folder will be separate from your RTW gold folder. inside your "rome total war alexander" folder, therefore, you must place THS in this folder to play it with alexander.

right click on your alexander program in steam, and select properties and then set launch options. in the space, type: -noalexander -mod:THS

Does this make any real difference if I run in BI?

well... it will soon. for now, the differences are that those factions that do favor naval invasions are much better at it and do it more wisely (on at least hard campaign difficulty).

here's what it will certainly change for the better in the future:

    new formations. (Schiltrom, Shield Wall)
    player and ai battle formations.
    factions can horde.

Great addition, these tutorials are absolutely necessary. Will try using Alex today, as I believe that one has to copy paste the "chat.filter.san" on the mod folder to make it work.

EDIT: yeah, it asked me for chat.filter.san. It's so strange that nobody else has reported this, and I believe I haven't been the only one.

What the hell do you mean here? Replace the original Imperial campaign ones with the Barbarian invasion ones, and make backups of the originals?

It's an alternative, really a tutorial so you can use the extra features that the expansions brings. It isn't that hard, at least from my experience, to change the kind of exe you wish to use (except for those super mods like EB and whanot)

Sorry for necro, but if anyone is still here, can they help me?
I did everything that was asked, but when I try to play imperial campaign, the game crashes and when I try to use it through provincial campaign, it just returns to previous screen
