    Gave a building 100 turns to construct by mistake once and it caused no problems. As for guilds i gave the Woodsmen_guild 10 construction turns but it built it in one, not sure if you're skint how it would go about building it though.

    You could probably script something similar to the effect your looking for, for example have all benefits from a guild building linked to an event which doesn't fire until 10 turns after the appropriate level is built. The building will exist but not be useful until it has been "built" so to speak. You could likely do it other ways as well without the building having to be built first.

    Guilds are no exception if they are removed from the export_descr_guilds.txt file they behave as normal buildings.
