Hi, I played your "vazal" campaign as juli and when I attempted to attack galic town a message poped out saying that I don't have enough public support to attack rome. I was unable to attack them at all. I switched to normal campaign and everything was ok.

Enjoying the start of my julii campaign at the moment. Just a couple of issues:
1. Why can't romans recruit town guard? They were quite cool cheap garisson unit earlier, now my garisson consist of some hastati+some ranged unit which is costly.
2. In the battle map smth strange to me is with cavalry ranks, density. Horses start sliding and shaking when I change Cav ranks from 3 to 4 just before the battle when they are standing still.
3. Vassal system is a really promising project but I don't play it yet cause it annoys me of scipii being outlawed on turn 1 and not able to see what other roman factions are doing. Can't wait for your improvement.
4. Hastati skins and colour look kinda ugly and mobish :laughing: (shields are cool though), but that's just my opinion

@bighead:are you sure you did not change anything in the desc_strat file I provide?Such as the disabled superfaction ability for romans?

1)Bcs it is now only available to slave romans. Romans did not ever had that unit historically and also its existence presses AI to build unbalanced roman armies.We want powerful roman armies not levy weaklings dont we?
2)Yes I know. The new mass settings that provide a large proportion of new gameplay unfortunatelly cause for mass of horses this slightly annoying issue but nothing to worry bcs all the benefits provided by the new settings are a compensation.
3)Yes I can understand. The solution to this is a unification of Rome.
4)All of you want ferres skins I know. Why someone cannot add and provide a patch for me.....cannot do it all alone and quickly also

No I looked into those files but didn't change anything as I remember but it seems that I am the only one who experienced this so it's propably ok.

I recently bought a new video card and more RAM.
Neither was fully locked into place in my pc.
I've now fixed both issues. No more CTD.
BTW, Macedon then crashed as I was Fighting near Corinth!
Maybe bighead but I am very glad you report a possible issue bcs this is the only way to someone see and fix it.

It would appear only if someone plays campaign Scythia or fight with Scythia and a scythian faction leader is present.
Really an example of how surgical have to be the moves of a modder who modifies txt files by hand.

Enemy reinforcements delayed.
I've been getting this message since 5.8 and always forgotten to tell you. When I, for example, attack enemy army and there are two other nearby I always fight only one army. Those other two never join the battle. They should join the battle as reinforcements but simply never arrive.
you must open games\Activision\Rome - Total War\preferences\preferences.txt and set UNLIMITED_MEN_ON_BATTLEFIELD:TRUE
It's ok that soldiers have to walk around killed elephant but not in 5m long radius. This is even worst if there are more killed elephants as it creates "gate" effect.
It has to stink around a dead elephant, they are strong for just waling 5 yards around! lol

Ive seen the same thing with the Elephants...
In the following battle I was Rome against Carthage
The unit above that is circled actually got stuck there and could not move...just sat there wiggling around in place...nor could I get any units in to get to them either.
And also the area where the elephants are laying no unit could even move through there.Any unit sent that way would split apart and go around that entire area where the elephants are.So basically the battle was a huge half circle fight around that batch of dead elephants.Like was said above I can see not being able to go through them to a degree but at the extent that it is now it is kinda funky.
I hope I explained this well...hard to describe really.
I know that this exists. The various new mass settings that are vital for the balance of the elephants produce also radius for elephants. But will look to it to improve it.

This elephant force circles are creating havoc in carthagian street fighting, all troops are getting stuck...(the dark side of the force ?).so maybe I use my descr_mount.txt and not yours, even if the formations are worse then.

Without it. Elephants stick to masses of troops and go inside them without hitting them which seems idiotic.
Now troops maintain a distance from them as they should do in-battle...
Bad thing is that this is also seen when the model is dead.

Darth, did you remove the "Famous Battle Site" functionality from the campaign map? Because I've been playing as the julii for quite some time and I've had over 20 massive battles against the gauls without gaining much ground at all... and you'd figure the area around Massilia would be littered with little crossed swords by now.

Could you please make quick battles work in DM 7.0?
When I now play them they sometimes work.
I just got a CTD when trying to quick battle, each time it was the Britons and it said:
8 items not deleted and listed them &
4 other lines:
cmd_line break vector at 999 of 999
cmd_line break video at 999 of 999, etc.
Just to let you know of this issue and possiblefix.

maybe it's just me, but the custom battle doesn't work in 6.9. i always see my desktop if i click custob battle![]()
