i used to play it, but only for a short time....
No. I'm in a crappy (but fun) situation - I am a lord of the Vaegirs, and the Khergits, Swadians and Rhodocks attacked us to "curb our influence", because with my help we took all the Nords' cities, leaving them useless. Which means my village of Hanun gets sacked all the time, many of my enterprises are under sequestration. My only source of income is my extended Chévauchee in Swadian territory (those peasant bastards usually have velvet, silk, spices and !), leaving me with an average of 10k income each time I return. My Swadian can no longer be replenished, so I am forced to resort to Vaegir and Sarranid knight spam (which is not that bad, and they look way cooler). I discovered my army of 72 (13 Sw.k., 5 Sw. m.a.a., 10 Vae.k., 16 Vae. hm., 7 companions, about 15 crossbows and about 16 inf.) can chew through Khergit armies of up to 150 with little to no casualties, which means that when I saved the game to go to training, I could already move through enemy territory with virtual impunity.
I myself have just become vassal of the Khergit. My combined forces of Khergit Lancers/Horse Archers and Swadian Men at arms/Knights completely rip through all those Sarranid armies (note: Sarranids are getting pwned by us and the Rhodoks. I hate Italians. That's what them Rhodoks are, of course. I mean, Pavise Crossbowmen, anyone?). My only estate at the moment is that crappy village at the edge of the map, near the border with the Sarranids (I believe it's Durgan). I'm going to besiege the nearest Sarranid castle. I hope my guys are still as awesome when fighting dismounted

Vaegirs got invaded by Sarranids. Yes. Sarranids. Now that we're at war with every other faction, I am increasingly desperate to replenish my troops - each battle against the Swadians results in 3-5 caualties! I am thinking of renouncing my oath to Yargolek and joining Swadia.
That's epic.
What's your tactic in sieges? I just can't win them without the help of an ally, while it should really be possible.aegirs got invaded by Sarranids. Yes. Sarranids. First of all, look for a castle with a garrison no larger than twice your army's size, prefferably without any lords. Group your inf and cav closely together, send archers to cover your approach. If you can, send companions in first, they can't die and will create a "landing zone" on the walls. Then charge in your cav and inf. Be careful! Don't charge in yourself recklessly! If you get knocked out, your chances of taking the castle decrease (you won't be able to command, enemy reinforcements may arrive, etc.). When you're in, clear the walls, place archers on them and send your cav and inf to defend the stairways.
P.S. You'll need a lot of crossbows, and having about 20-30 heavy inf is good too - 2handed weapons are really good in sieges.
P.P.S. Most garrisons number at 140-170 men, so you'll need atleast 70 men for a siege.
P.P.P.S. Don't attack cities.

P.P.P.P.P.S. Use either Vaegirs or Nords for inf, theirs is the best at sieges.
