    Icon11 Ai cheats?

    I tried to play a slow game as france and therefore I removed the AI financial aid in case of debt from the campaign_script.txt. I then migrated to Ireland and conqered the isle. Ireland had castle town, and I was lucky and made them my vassals.

    A long time later - maybe 40 turns the Irish have a full stack of troops standing next to their only city. I have conquered england (on the island - they have most of my old lands) and the scots have around 2½ full stack standing south of Edinborough - more troops than me, financed with 4 provinces, where two are castles and one is a small town (Dumfries). how is that possible?

    The only conclusion is that there is more AI-cheating going on that I didn't remove, but where is it? And does it spawn units or give financial aid? Ireland is listed as bancrupt in the diplomacy screen and have been since I smashed them.

    Can someone help me understand this?

    addendum: And I'm playing om Medium, som the ai purse increase from the script shouldn't be the reason.

    Did you start a new campaign after you made the changes to the campaign_script.txt file? Changes to script files are not save game compatible.

    Yes I did, so that's not the explanation.

    @magraev

    The only thing I can think of without doing an exhausting search of the script is that by eliminating the debt you have only prevented or slowed the creation of new units and buildings. Existing units would still remain and the garrison script would cause new armies to spawn and spread if the siege failed. This is just speculation on my part as I have not tried to repeat your actions over even looked all the way through the script file for other sources of income or units.

    That's ok. It wasn't the garrison script, because the city was never under siege. Maybe units are so much cheaper in KGCM that you can support a full stack from a well-run large town? Else I have no idea what's happening.
