Update patch without steam ?

Is there anyway to update shogun 2 with lastest patch without using steam ? thks for help

No there isn't you have to use steam, might as well seeing as its auto-patch system is pretty good.

I'm finding it to be quite the contrary. I just bought a brand new shiny computer yesterday and have been having to re-install all my old software of course.

Well I have steam and Shogun 2 installed and working, but for some reason steam isnt updating Shogun 2 past 1.0.0

I know on my old computer it was at 1.1 and I think its up to 1.3 now? Could be wrong on that. But I do know that My Shogun 2 isnt updating and I can't figure out how to rectify the problem...

Have you been able to run the game and play an online battle? because the version number on the main Shogun2 screen hasn't changed for anyone yet.

no i remember before the version number on the main screen said 1.0.8 before on my other cpu. i think that was after they released the patch that prevented the game from loading, and then the patch that hotfixed it.

anyways as far as the online thing, i havnt checked. ill test now and get back to you.

I'm pretty sure Shogun never went past 1.0.0. Only the build number changed.

So the bugs were all caused by bad builds and not by developmental error. The build guy was probably using the build machine to play Starcraft 2 or something during the build.

I may be wrong then. The question then, is what should my build number read as then? Where do I go to check that?

Also I just ran a multiplayer battle within my clan competition thing and the battle worked and ran all the way to conclusion (which was victory on my behalf btw)

So does this mean I'm updated? Would I not be able to play that fight if I werent updated? Perhaps my opponents version was old as well?

Just do a "verify game cache" via steam.

1.0.0. build 3327 or summat like that. this is the latest version for Shogun 2

Considering that Steam is required to play the game, and that there is no other legitimate means of acquiring the game, and finally taking into account that piracy, or anything related to pirating software is forbidden by the Terms of Service, I am closing this thread.
