6.4 asks for Kingdoms CD/DVD but I have Gold

Hello,

I hadn't played SS since 6.0, and I felt a nostalgia for it so I undertook to install 6.4 (after 6.3).
After installing everything, I try to launch the game and I get a message from secuROM pop up saying that I need to insert Kingdoms CD/DVD. However I have the Gold version which contains 2 DVDs. The game doesn't start whatever of the two DVDs I use. However vanilla Kingdoms launches without problem.

Any ideas?

Hi, did you patch your gold version to 1.5? In which region / continent did you buy the game?

Yes I patched it to 1.5 yesterday just before installing SS 6.3. I even run the vanilla to see if the patch was applied ok before installing SS 6.3 and there was no problems. I bought the game in Greece so I applied the EU 1.5 patch. Of course, now that I look closely, the patch does not mention Gold *sigh*... The installer should have warned me though...

I will uninstall/reinstall the game tonight. Should I install the 1.5 UK patch (Gold) or the US patch (Gold)? I am confused since the DVD box mentions that the game should not be sold on UK, so I guess I have the US version? Then again, support info mentions Sega Europe...

I finally omitted the 1.5 patch. I installed SS 6.3 directly after installing the game (that is 1.4) as I've read somewhere that 1.5 is not necessary, and then I applied SS 6.4. I am now having a blast! Great work guys, congrats for what you've made of this game!
