    Der Einzige, they are carrying forks which were used by arquebusiers (infantry - not to be confused with harquebusiers which were cavalry) and early matchlock musketeers. These weapons were very heavy at the start of the 17th century so had to be mounted on a fork.

    This one. We did it by attaching the fork to one hand so that when the hands come together it simulates the gun being mounted on the fork. It isn't a new animation.

    I will hopefully have screenshots of late French artillery today or tomorrow.
