stainless steel 6.4 on a usb

hey i dont know if this is the right section, but this is the one that i think is closest to it,please move is nessecary.

i was wondering if i can put 6.4 on a usb maybe 8gb and wondering if it will work, also do i need to put kingdoms and the orignial on it aswell.

It should work because the SS launcher allows SS to be installed in non-M2TW folders. So a USB shouldn't be any different and you wouldn't need to put M2TW or Kingdoms on it too.

6.4 needs the kingdoms/m2tw install on the same drive
You could mapü the folder from the usb drive to the same drive kingdoms is on
6.4 does not need the kingdoms campaigns to be installed (just install one and delete it)
kingdoms/m2tw need the original cd in drive
Even with compression the Stainless Steel folder together with m2tw might exceed 8gb

Is "same drive" no longer a requirement?

All the SS stuff (including submods)

takes up about 6.7GB

You can compress it even further with the builtin ntfs compression but afaik it wont work unless mapped to the same drive that m2tw/kingdoms is installed on.

Q: Which kingdoms campaign do I have to install?
A: Actually, you don't need any. In the kingdoms setup, you can just uncheck all the campaigns and the 1.4 patch will install automatically. You will have to manually move kingdoms.exe from the CD through. (for example from CD:\teutonic\main)

Q: My MTW2 is installed on a different drive then SS, do i have to reinstall.
A: Due to SS's nature, you can just move its folder around/change its name as you wish, so just move SS to the right disk. You'll have to manually take care of the start menu and desktop icons though.
