    hey all,

    i have a fast question here,
    i am very new to the whole modding scene, so don't punch me if a get something completely wrong.

    i was thinking of adding a new unit to the Sicily roster (which is kinda bland in my opinion),namely a 2 handed axe wielder whom basically uses the skins/models of the dismounted Norman knights,
    and the animations and weapon models of, say, the varangian guard.
    any 2 handed axe wielder will do i guess but i like the model of the verangian axe.

    now the question:
    is this possible to achieve this by editing the "battle_models.modeldb" and the "export_descr_unit" files?
    or should i not waste my time on that, and learn how to mod for real
    i am basically not wanting to making any new skins or models here, just using already in game models/animation to compile a new unit.

    Great question!
    I too would like to add new units or weapon types, and I'm unsure if its possible without major changes. For instance: I don't know if there is a limit to the number of weapons.
    Would love to find an answer to this as it is looks possible. IE:TATW

    You'd have to find a unit that looks like the unit you want, armed in the manner that you wish. Otherwise you'd need to create the unit as you cannot simply change weapons in the battle_models.modeldb file.

    Hi,I'm also very interested in simple add units to factions bit. However I'm under the impression that 500 is the units limit for this game. Question how many units per faction can you have? Question. If after removing/swapping a unit from the EDU, why is it still available in the custom battles along with the new unit so is there a limit to units per faction? Question what is file to remove the unit you do not want in order to keep under said limit. Question. can a unit in the EDU script have its weapon changed from long_spear to short_spear by script change only and have this effect show up on the unit in a battle. I remember, seeing this done with the spartens in RTW to give them a shorter spear? please advise
