Unable to play maps/campaign

Hi, i have felt some frustration ina while now. as i cant play the game with its randomly buggyness

First of all i have to mention that i cant start the game via the "Warhammer.bat" file i search for, then it says "kingdom.exe" cant be found. but there is one that appears the same in that lies directly in the Call_of_warhammer directory. that always launches the game flawlessly.

However, when i try to start campaign, the game can even crash just by me clicking on a faction icon. Or when i try to start the actual campaign, it just brings me back to the previous menu.

Also, when i try to start battle maps, it works and loads til the initial view before you set up your army in the actual battle, so i can see the warriors, the general and the speech etc,but when i click "start battle" the game just crashes.

Any solutions? Deleting that Rwm. map didnt help at all.

I have played the first beta of this game, even then it worked with less errors.

I am not using steam

Can anyone help me please?

ok I will try to help you I just experimented the bug you said about being unable to start a campaign because after choosing a faction you press start and it goes back to the main menu, I have to say I experimented this bug only with the torrent version the other versions do not have this problem

so far I was unable to resolve it try downloading the version with music that one should work fine (at least it worked for me)

I did get the torrent version.

Can you link me to a working download site of a working ver?

Okay. i dont know what just happened but i lost 3 posts on this topic.

I downloaded Reddwarfs 1.4.4 torrent.But when i start the game it only says 1.4 (Does he have any nontorrent?)


I dont know of any english patch apart from the translation which i got, so if there is any, please tell me.

I think you should ask someone that can play with the torrent if u don't want to wait u can always download the full 1.4.4 with music, you will not experienced this problem with this version

Before installing Call of Warhammer, make sure that you have updated Kingdoms to v1.5 with the CORRECT PATCH. There are multiple versions of the 1.5 patch, each specifically designed for a different installation of Kingdoms. For example, the 1.5 patch for the Medieval II Kingdoms Gold installation is different from the individual Kingdoms bought as an expansion.

sorry do you mean 1.5 or 1.05? I am having the problem where I choose a faction, press start and get the main menu. I have patched up to 1.05, as it says in options within kingdoms

They are the same patch.

Try re-installing Medieval II & Kingdoms, update with the correct 1.5 patch ; then download/install CoW 1.4.4 with these links and instructions: http://bit.ly/kWjy4F

Hey, been trawling thru forums n im at my wits end so if this is in an awkward spot forgive me =P
I've installed the mod etc but seem to be getting the problem with starting a campaign still. as far as i can see iv installed all i needed to where i needed, i can play custom battles and what not (did once have a instance where a instant battle decided to start both teams with all dead units..that was a quick fight. o.0) so iv seen the amazing job you guys have done on the units etc so i gotta say..amazing! but campaign resolutely slings me back to main menu time n time again even tho im sure iv followed what i was ment to ( newest translation file etc)... any clues?

ps im perty much stupid when it comes to software..so nice simple answers please haha =P

Yeah there is one custom battle map that is only water, so every unit just drowns immediately

But as for your kicking back to the main menu problem, its an issue with one of your files, when I had the issue it was a problem with my Descr_strat file, but it could be anything.

What you want to do is download the game from this link

Its kinda hidden, being in the bug section, but if you speak english, this is what you want to get. All translations built in, the music mod is built in, and its the latest version. Just install the mod using that thread, and you shouldnt have any more problems. If you do, upload your log file, and ill find what the problem is. Im saying to reinstall the game first because if youve got an error in your game, there will probably be more.

Ah dear me.. Well the good news is i can start a campaign! bad news is i may be retarded. since its working before i do the recommended file clean up (better water etc). il play around till i run into sumthing and perhaps itl make sense then. but for now i have to to waste the rest of my day glued to the screen contemplating ulthuans downfall.. oh another thing the screen doesnt quite reach the right side of my screen..if that makes sence, no matter how i fiddle with the settings.... oh and wheres the log found for problems (prepares for an almighty slap with the n00bstick)

haha dont worry about it.

The log file will be in your main Medieval II folder, there will be a subfolder titled Log. As for the screen issue, I dont think its the mod, its most likely your moniter, try taping the auto adjust button most have built on them, usually its a plus or minus button on the front. If that doesnt work im afraid youve just got a crappy moniter
