The turns till next unit on my FLanders campaign, at turn like 5, is 48 for mailed knights, 22 for militia, is this right?

Sorry the edit my thoughts function did not engage.
Recruitment times are slow because you did not increase your Defense Spending. This is outlined in one of the first pop-up windows when you start a camaign.![]()

wait... are you.. tryna to insult me? i didnt know i could read and quu quite frankly i find that offensive. but fo rilz, yea that was a massive oversight on my part and I feel like a 'tard. Thanks! Also, to further my appearance of stupidity, how do I increase Defense Spending?![]()
munchster123 - Sorry and I do apologize if you found it to be insulting. I try to be helpful with my posts and I just lost it for a second after I read yours, only because it had been asked recently and is asked a lot.
You will find DLV especially with BB is quite a challenge and has many things that the original game does not. There is a lot of info to be found in the manual and in the BB thread. If you can't find the answers there try using the search forum button. And of course you will usually get quick and direct information replies when asking a question here ( aside from my misstep that I will remove (hangs head in shame and flogs self) )
Hoping you find the game challenging and fun !
Sorry for 'hiding' the information in the pop up event that appears when you start a campaign. I know it's expecting too much to imagine anyone has the patience to read that event scroll...![]()
Yea, you really shouldn't expect so much from people. It is a bit presumptuous.
Chin up soldier, go play some DLV , gain some government points and build a dungeon to throw a rebellious LFV General in there to rot!
Ehh, it caught me by surprise too, when I finally switched to BB. I'd been vanilla DLV for a long time, then tried to quit cold turkey when I got my new computer and was too lazy to re-install everything. Didn't work out. But yeah, the Defense Spending option is just something that you never expect after a long time with the standard mod.
Found the tab by accident when trying to access my recruitment limit (they're the same button on different pages of the city overview, after all), right in time to give me the military boost to NOT be conquered by Venice.
Now I'm trying to figure out why even my Lvl 5 spending option is leaving recruitment so much lower than DLV basic-- Templar headquarters in Milan (I play as Lombards, if you couldn't tell), and I get 1 Templar Knight unit every 12 turns. Admittedly, it makes a GREAT challenge trying to take on the HRE with just militia and the occasional merc-- but I've only survived this long because I can just hand back half the ransom money I make every now and again to stop the war for a few years when it starts going bad.
